We really enjoyed our stay. Convenient for going to the beach, going to town to eat and visiting the surrounding area. Cabin was well equipped. We had a fire in the firepit almost every night and used the grill once too. Thank you.

We had a wonderful time staying at the sweet house. Beds are comfy and 2 bathrooms when you have 2 teenage girls is a must!!! Minute walk to the beach which was perfect. So many shells to collect! House had everything we needed and plenty of room for the 4 of us. Would absolutely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at the property. Loved having beach access just down the block and the convenience having grocery stores so close to the home. Great location that had easy access to the Air Museum and Lumberman’s Monument. The house was very clean and especially appreciated having 2 full baths in the home. Our daughter reported she would like to come back!

Was great experience for my family and I. Everything we needed was available, except fans.
The window units were great for the main room and the one bredroom but the other rooms were stuffy without fans or air.

Katherine, we're glad to hear that you and your family had a great stay and found everything you needed. I apologize for the discomfort in the other rooms due to the lack of fans or air circulation. We appreciate your feedback and will definitely consider adding fans to improve comfort for future guests. You were great guests and we hope to welcome you again! - Van FVR
The house was very nice and clean. Plenty of dishes, glasses, and pots and pans - they were a little old but serviceable. The neighborhood was very quiet except for the main road close by. Plenty of grocery stores within a few miles to pick up whatever you need. The beach was a few minutes walk away and nobody was there. Plenty of golf courses within a half hour of the house. The only negative I have is that the tub gets very slippery with the body wash they provide. There is poison ivy in the back of the property.

2/10 Terrible

Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
The pictures are not update, accurate pictures of what the house looks like. The house has a terrible smell we could not quite figure out what it was. Their is only one window ac, in one bedroom, leaving the bedrooms stuffy. Could not even open the window, as it appears something was living between the screens. We only stayed one night, because it was too late to find anything else. We did not feel comfortable in the house at all. Not sure how other reviewers gave it a 10?

It’s my understanding that many guests have had a 10/10, five-star experience at Quaint Cabin because they read the full description carefully and aligned their expectations with the price point. For them, the cabin matched exactly what they were looking for—a simple, cozy stay in Oscoda, near the water but not directly on it.
Reading your review was very disappointing. With all due respect, the photos are an accurate representation of the home. That said, I fully recognize that each guest brings their own perspective. The property owner continues to make guest-friendly improvements every year.
The carpets were professionally cleaned just before your arrival, and because of the August humidity, we wondered if the scent you noticed may have come from the cleaning solution.
The owner is also actively working on improving the airflow of the air-conditioning system; I agree that it can get very warm during the peak of summer.
You and I spoke numerous times the evening you arrived, and you clearly expressed your dissatisfaction. We did everything we could to find you another place to stay during peak summer, but you had already decided to stay with family and were requesting a full refund. Out of concern for your safety traveling at night, we allowed you to remain at the property that evening even though you were understandably unhappy.
You were a returning guest and shared that you loved your previous stay at one of our Freshwater properties, so you know how important guest experience is to our team. I’m truly sorry that this visit fell short of your expectations.
We wish you peace.
Sincerely,
Cara
