What an incredible stay! We booked this home on the lake for a girls’ weekend, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The house is absolutely breathtaking, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. Every detail was so thoughtful! On top of that, the host was fantastic—always quick to respond to any questions and super helpful throughout our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind and catch up. We’d love to stay here again!

Property as described: beautiful views, easy lake access, comfortable bedrooms, multiple family gathering spots, kitchen fully equipped, and excellent location on the lake. We started our days with coffee on the deck and ended our days on the screened in porch for family game nights. A restful vacation and we hope to make this an annual trip to this most excellent lake home! Oh and we also saw a bald eagle, armadillos, a mink, various water birds, and a few water snakes.

We had a great stay at this location. Great communication with host, easy access into house, kitchen was fully stocked with dishes/glassware and 2 fridges! Only negative was wasps were all over. Many nests all over the house. We bought spray but it needs to be resolved.

Hi Cindy, I'm glad your group have a wonderful time at Sunset Cottage. Thank you for your feedback on the wasp problem. We have contracted with an exterminator service to spray specifically for the wasps. I also liked your idea of a wasp decoy and will investigate that a little more.

We had a great trip! We were able to check in early, easy communication with the host, well stocked kitchen, great amenities, perfect location. My only complaint, and it’s not really a complaint, is that the house is more of an open concept. We came with 13 people, sleeping on couches and the loft bedroom is open to the lower level. It gets a bit noisy. Once one person was up, we were all up.

We have stayed in several VRBO properties at Lake Barkley, and this one was our favorite! We had four couples, and each of us had our own bedroom and bathroom. The lake access and private dock were perfect for us, and the driveway was spacious enough for our boat trailer. Great stay!

The location of the home was great. We enjoyed fishing, the beautiful lake and serenity. Wildlife especially the deer. The house was really nice and we really enjoyed sitting in the enclosed porch downstairs in the afternoon. We would highly recommend this place.

Thanksgiving Getaway

The property is very nice. Plenty of space for 5 adults and 5 children. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cookware. Beautiful views right on the lake and the owner supplied wood.
