Choose from endless restaurants or shop at the charming boutiques of downtown Venice. Catch your fish of the day on the Venice Fishing Pier, or venture farther south, and explore Don Pedro Island State Park accessible only by boat or ferry, where you can get lost within the mangrove forests, dunes, and beaches. Be sure to look out for the local wildlife, including West Indian manatees, tortoises, bald eagles, and Loggerhead turtles. Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park (the third largest state park in Florida), is a popular spot to bike, walk, and run, as well as Cape Haze Pioneer Trail Park, where an 8-mile trail runs alongside a former railroad corridor.
