Our stay at White Pines Resort was disappointing overall due to cleanliness, maintenance, issues.The first impression was poor. The office/store appeared cluttered and unkempt, with laundry, paperwork, and cats occupying the space.Although the lake view was beautiful, the cabin itself needed significant cleaning and repairs. Floors, furniture, and surfaces were dusty, dirty, and dead flies throughout. The cabin key did not work, preventing us from locking the doors when away. We discovered a leaking toilet in the master bathroom, received only one hand towel for two bathrooms, and were not provided kitchen towels, extra toilet paper, or paper towels. Several electrical outlets did not work, requiring extension cords, and the bedroom air conditioner was extremely dirty. The oven had not been cleaned, and expired cooking supplies and dirty spice containers remained in the kitchen.Additional concerns included a damaged bed box spring, lack of guest information, and general maintenance neglect. We contacted management for cleaning supplies and additional towels. Maintenance responded by vacuuming and correcting a heater issue, but some requests required follow-up or were never addressed.Positives included a beautiful lakeside setting, a clean new refrigerator, reliable hot water, working ceiling fans and TV, enjoyable wildlife viewing, and pleasant weather. While the location has potential, the property requires substantial cleaning and maintenance
