My family of 6 found this condo well furnished, cozy and perfectly located within all the magic Tahoe has to offer! From skiing and hiking to ice skating and card paying by the fire, this place was exactly what we needed. We will definitely visit again!

Our stay was wonderful! The house is spacious and upgraded and modern. Very comfortable rooms and we loved standing out on the balconies and watching the wildlife. The pool is just around the corner and huge, and my kids had so much fun on the small playground. We really didn’t want to leave!

Clean! Beautiful location! Comfortable quite and Cozy! Would definitely stay at this property again!!
The unit was everything as advertised. We would stay there again. The only thing we did not like is that the community clubhouse and pool are closed on Sunday, which we did not know.
Overall experience is good. Nice and clean. The only problem is the dishwasher. It is small and hard to use. It took me 15 minutes to figure out how to start it.

Nice enough
We were generally happy at this property. The townhouse was clean. However, there were barely any supplies like soap, no shampoo or extra paper towels. Because it was a holiday weekend, we had to Instacart these supplies, if we had known we would have packed our own. There was also a bear getting into the garbage every morning, very early, outside our bedroom window.
The 'check in' process with the management company was a bit arduous because they sent different docusign documents within a short amount of time to sign.

Reviewer Comments:
The place was very clean with the exception of the kitchen. I had to wash everything I used before i use it. Not sure what it was, i'm thinking some kind of residual from the dishwasher. Not ok!The house is very outdated. All the appliances were older. The couch is nice but you can't sit with all the family because those two lovely red chairs are only foe for person and they are not confortable. They need a better coffee table too. Those two things are wobbly and not functional. Overall was ok. I don't think I would stay here again.
This condo is three stories. Two bedrooms and one bathroom are at the entry level, upstairs is the third bedroom, second bathroom and the kitchen/ living areas. The third story is a mostly empty loft which we all thought seemed haunted.
The pool is walking distance. The walks are hilly but easy if you’re fit. We did the par course which is actually a hike, about 1.8 miles.
The condo was clean. There were some dings/dirt on the walls that could use some repair but the bathrooms and kitchen were clean.
The kitchen had everything for cooking. There were some spices. The stove is electric. The water in the sink gets very hot.
The pool here is huge and relatively clean. The hot tubs were nice.
The recreation center smelled bad of musty mildew, we couldn’t wait to get out of there.
Our first day at the condo we saw a bear.
The biggest issue was the uncomfortable beds. The bedroom upstairs has a very firm, hard mattress. The pillows weren’t great. The two downstairs bedrooms were a bit better but not much.
There’s no A/C.
The teenagers were annoyed that the walk to the pool was “far”.
The condo had a musty smell that I think most lake houses have.
The cabinets were old and crusty. The carpet dingy. The living room rug was old and dirty. The living room chairs and couch need replacing. They are dirty and worn out.
Cable TV was spotty and cut out a lot.
All in all, we wouldn’t stay here again. I think for the price you can find something a bit nicer.
The townhouse was incredibly clean -- kudos to the cleaning crew! That said, the unit needs much TLC to reach its potential. The beds were comfortable but the rest of the furniture shows significant wear and pillows need to be replaced; some kitchen cabinets and drawers are broken and some nonstick pans were too scratched to be usable; the nice dishwasher was crusted in minerals (we opted not to use it).Upgrading the toilet paper and bath towels and providing one more tiny bar soap would go a long way to making this feel more like a vacation rental than a cheap motel. We split a bar soap in half to have hand soap in the kitchen, and we bought toilet paper. We also found the unit lacked the typical Tahoe "extras" like board games (the only puzzle was missing pieces), even a pen for score-keeping, or sleds and sand toys that are typical. There were also no instructions on how or where to access the pool/hot tub. Again though, the place was incredibly clean. The host company was also flexible and responsive, allowing us to extend 1 night because of a snow storm. With a small investment in maintenance, an updated "how to" guide, and a few extras (a couple games), this stay could have been 5 stars.

Reviewer Comments:
Although Carnelian Woods is a wonderful place to stay, this unit was not up to the pictures we saw. Still, any day in Tahoe is a great day.
Super location, short walk to the lake. Enjoyed the pool. There is no BBQ for guests to use at the lodge and the home has no BBQ - so don’t plan on that. No spices or anything of that nature, must buy or bring. Very nice condo - would have no problem returning
This place was between very touristy spots so the beach and resaurants were easy to get spots at and all walkable.
Easy to get to from Reno. Lake water was cold but enjoyable.
I will be back.
Very pretty and cozy hut, with a decent set of reasonably sized bedrooms, and an airy loft. Somewhat excessive use of emails and mandatory replies during the booking process, but well organized and easy to find your way to/around in.
The recreation building only opens the hot tub 2 days a week ( weekends) . We were then mostly mid week and the hot tub was not available. On the Sunday they would not let us use the tub as there were already too many people using it. As a result on of the main reasons I chose this location did not really have the feature I felt I paid a premium for to have. As a result I would not stay here again
Loved this property! Plenty of space for our group and it was so clean inside! Highly recommend this place.
Parking lot was full one of the nights, which wasn’t ideal - only flaw.
The property was great for our family of 7. Walking distance to the lake. The community pool and center were great, but we didn't use it much as we were at the lake most of the time.
I would recommend the property to other families.
The location was great for our family. The Lake, Magic Carpet golf and CB's Bistro were walking distance. Truckee and Tahoe City were only a 20 to 15 minute drive. We enjoyed relaxing, mini-golfing, rafting & Tree top adventures.
Overall we only had two complaints:
1. Mattresses are Too Firm - we all had trouble sleeping on them. A few nights I had to sleep on the couch because my back hurt.
2. Locals were rude and impatient. It almost seemed like they were not use to being a tourist town.
We had a great time overall. The location is central to many things. We are glad we got to visit Lake Tahoe, but we probably won't return.
The stairs were difficult for some to manage but overall the property worked well for us
