Rocky beach getaway.

This was our 2nd time renting this wonderful little place. Right across the road from the water it’s a perfect home base for a quick trip.

We had a really nice stay here. The house had plenty of room, very bright and open, while still feeling cozy and relaxed. Being on the marsh provided lots birds watching for the family! The town itself is nice and quiet, which we preferred. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to this area!

Lovely beach house!

We booked this as a last-minute getaway, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is sun-drenched, across the street from the beach with a great set-up for a couple or small family. The place has comfortable furniture, a well-equipped kitchen, and top-quality linens and bath essentials. The decor was great, and there were lots of books, magazines, and games readily available for use. The back of the house faces a large saltmarsh and is great for spotting wildlife or watching sunsets. We sensed a bit of a strong smell from the watery surroundings when we first arrived, but it wasn't really noticeable after a while. The great location with private parking in walking distance to the beach is a big plus!

Weekend Tip for Tournament

Chose a VRBO over a hotel for a long weekend / baseball tournament: more room, extra living space, kitchen, comfort, etc... Potential renters should know there is large nuclear power plant about a 1/2 mile away which is yours to view from the right hand side of the house. It is light green and unfortunate as it would be a different home without it, ruins the vibe. You can verify this by inputting the address to Google street view and taking a walk down the road. Wish that I had done this before booking. Smell...the house is located on a marsh and faces the ocean. You should expect the smell of low tide, not a huge deal. There is a smell inside the house. I'm not sure what it was....a subtle pungent odor. My wife thought it may have been the rug (real wool?). The house is older as evidenced by the floors, doors, and trim. The kitchen has been updated and is comfortable to work in. The bathroom has been redone recently and was outfitted with soaps and shampoos which was nice. The beds were very comfortable and I slept well. I did like the furniture and art which were both unique. The beach is 5 minutes walking distance. It's small but shows off a spectacular sunset if the conditions are right. Neighbors were friendly often waving when walking their dogs down the street. Was it bad: No Would I stay again: No

A house NOT on the Beach

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: the house looks nice on the picture and the text in the listing tells that it is a beach house. But it is not. In a legal situation the actuall beach is far away!The road has houses on both sides of the road. But the listing here is on the other side of the road where is NO beach access. The renting company claims that there is a public beach just 500 meters down the road BUT that is not a public beach. There are signs everywhere that the beach is only for residance ! They want a residence permission as shot therm rentel we dont have them. So you are in a house with no beach access at all. The house it self is roomy and has alot small art elements down by the owner. hast niceBut the house is old and the floor need remodeling.

Reviewer Comments: The cottage was in a great location and gave us a nice place to sleep. The kitchen provided everything you would need to make all meals and having spices, coffee and some starter foods was a huge bonus! The location allowed us to start our long weekend by coming over by ferry and winding our way through Greenport and wineries as we drove to the rental. The local beach was cute and walkable.
