The property was as described and was comfortable to stay in and the outdoor area is amazing. The location is convenient to go back and forth between Paihia central. Carol and Roger went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable for us. Would highly recommend this place and would stay here again our next visit.
We loved the gardwn atmosphere and fantastic view of the bay. And a wonderful touch of a bottle of wine and cookies. Would definitely recommend this property.
Property is older, but well equipped and comfortable. Probably the spa should not be listed as a feature, as I don't think it's been used in sometime. Easy drive into Paihia, brewery and falls within an easy walk.
It is a good property with an excellent, central location. A nice bottle of wine and bag of cookies greeted us when we arrived. Lovely view over the river, with the Pacific behind. We stayed a week and found it not as well equipped as our other two VRBOs. We were left single towels, no facecloths and no condiments in the kitchen. There was a problem with tiny ants. The owner dealt with them promptly for us, but they did persist and we kept all foodstuffs in the fridge. No dryer on premises meant hanging clothes around the house to dry.
We stayed in several places during our NZ vacation and this was our favorite. Location was outstanding. Breathless view of the Te Ti Bay and Waitangi Treaty grounds just across the way. Walkable access to Haruru Falls and fun hike to the treaty grounds. Quick drive to Paihia to go on water tours of all kinds. (I HIGHLY recommend the "Bay of Islands Snorkeling, LTD" for the most amazing and unique experience). The home is well stocked and super comfortable, with nice beds and a well-appointed kitchen. Communication with our hosts was easy and they were quick to respond. I will miss having morning coffee on the deck, watching the sun rise over the bay and listening to the unique NZ songbirds. Thank you hosts for a perfect end to our Kiwi vacation!
Thank you Carol and Roger, not only for the bottle of wine but also for your lovely holiday house which is very spacious and clean and comfortable.
Although we spent a lot of time site seeing, when we came back we always enjoyed sitting down on the huge deck overlooking the river and the sea beyond.
It is a fantastic place to stay!!
We will recommend to our friends!!!
Thank You!
Enjoyed our stay got some much needed r & r. Great views of bay and sorrounding area.
Batch fulfilled everthing we needed and great location thanks roger and carol.
Our team stayed for 2 nights and absolutely loved it! The views are incredible, lovely family home, well looked after, clean and spacious. Communication from the hosts was amazing. Definitely recommend staying here!
The house was spacious, well appointed, peaceful and had fabulous views. The hosts were respnsive and provided thoughtful touches like fresh flowers, milk, wine and chocolate on arrival. It's a quick drive into town and Waitangi - we could have happily stayed longer!
Great, spacious place for 5 People. Even on a rainy day there where plenty of options for us 3 generations to get around and not drive each other crazy. Great view, privacy and close to all we needed. Thank you
We had an amazing week in this lovely house just outside the town of Paihia. The welcoming bottle of wine was enjoyed by the adults, and the cookies by everyone! Thank you Carol and Roger! The house had everything we wanted with a lot of the kitchen equipment seemingly new. The washing machine worked wonders for us, with an 18 month old in tow, and frequent trips to the nearby beaches. The deck gave us amazing views over the sea towards Whaitangi and we were enchanted by huge cruise ships which seemed completely out of context, anchoring in the sounds. We all enjoyed watching the tenders ferrying passengers to the shore, and experienced a small part of the Waka tour undertaken by some passengers, right under our noses! The sounds of the chanting as they rowed rose up to us on the deck. This in itself is worth a mention, it was a huge deck with plenty of room for eating and playing. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and our grateful thanks go to Carol who forwarded recipe books we'd accidentally left behind. The only slight downside was that although we had the washing machine, there was nowhere to hang clothes to dry, but we overcame this by getting our son-in-law to bring one from home when he came up on Saturday. We'd certainly consider renting this property on another occasion.
We stayed here for nights over kings birthday weekend with our 2 teenage kids. The location was great for Paihia and Kerikeri and a evening walk to Haruru Falls. The house is in a great location in a quiet street with superb views out over towards the Waitangi treaty grounds and Bay Of Islands.
The house was nice and clean, a little dated perhaps but had everything we needed for the weekend. There is room for a couple of cars and a boat on the drive.
The owners were great with comms and check in was easy.

Thank you, Roger and Carol, for the bottle of wine and chocolates. The property is very spacious and conveniently located close to amenities such as a dairy and supermarket. It's a short distance from Waitangi and Paihia. The house is self-sufficient and big enough for a family of six.
Brilliant views and homely atmosphere. Good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. Clean kitchen, spacious lounge area, Netflix, dining area and outdoor balcony with table and chairs. The sunroom was a great area to sit and watch the amazing view.
This holiday home suited us and our 18 and 20 year old children.
We highly recommend this holiday retreat.
The house is just a little way off the main road and we found it very central to all our needs. The owners were very responsive. The only negative we have is the cellular signal, very bad at the house, but it was compensated for by a decent internet connection for data calls. We look forward to the next time we stay there. Thanks for the great place.
