Casa Carmelita, also known as Casa Encantada #7, has plenty of charm, romance and magnetism that is tucked away in a serene setting. Casa Encantada, a classic adobe compound is situated on what was original Pueblo land. This early 1900’s family compound has been transformed into a charming, intimate collection of eleven individually owned casitas. Located one block off Kit Carson, it is an easy walk to the Plaza, 0.7 miles for shopping, galleries, restaurants, music and museums, and just moments to the El Monte Sagrado Resort and Spa.

Casa Carmelita is a classic adobe casita that opens into a beautifully landscaped, grassy shared common area with beautiful trees and a unique Totem Pole. This one bedroom gem sleeps 2 adults comfortably with a King bed (memory foam) and a Queen, Sleeper Sofa with no bars, no springs, no compromise. Guest will enjoy the large Kiva fireplace with beautiful gas logs for warm cozy nights. French doors open to the spacious private patio showcasing a bistro set with a wood-burning chiminea for a "quite" happy hour, then top the evening off with a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Additional amenities include, fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, microwave, dishwasher, portable air conditioner, air purifier, Roku/Smart TV with wireless Sony headphones, blu ray DVD, portable Bluetooth jam-box for music in the patio, fiber optic high speed internet, gas grill.

Dave visited Taos for the first time in 1971 on an art scholarship through his University. We hope you will enjoy his paintings that hang in the casita, some are available for purchase. Carmelita, a Registered Nurse enjoys the culinary experience of New Mexico and the Southwest.

This place was absolutely amazing !! It's enchanting in a way !! Very private and romantic. Everything was of such quality and anything you may have needed, or forgot, this Casita had it!. The bed, the hot-tub, the towels and even bathrobes were over the top!. The art in this Casita was done by the owner and is so beautiful. We have been to Taos many times over the years and this place is, by far, the very best. !!

Lovely casita #7 with a wonderful bed, terrific hot tub and surprisingly well stocked kitchen! Very quiet, great and private outdoor sitting area, portable chairs to sit out in the bigger yard. Thanks Carmie for being such a responsive host!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The location was perfect- quiet and secluded but still very close to all the action in town. The patio was wonderful with the hot tub, and was the reason we chose this specific place. The bed was very comfortable. The only thing that was not perfect, was the cleanliness. It definitely was not a deal breaker, and we would still stay here again, but we would have liked to have had the patio furniture wiped down so it didn't dirty our clothes, fresher/newer towels, and less of the owner's belongings around. The storage space is lacking, so having brooms/cleaning supplies etc piled in corners is kind of necessary, but the forethought to remove old boxes from the patio and just try to organize a little more, would go a long way in the presentation and first impression of the casita!

Thank you for the 5 Star Review and your recommendations which we appreciate. I will go to Dillards and purchase new towels. I will ask our Caretaker to make sure the patio furniture is wiped down before guests arrive. I will also ask our Caretaker to check and remove any unnecessary boxes in the patio. The only boxes I am aware of is a box on top of the outside storage cabinet that holds hot tub chemicals and a gray plastic tub with lid beside the cabinet labeled hot tub supplies. I am not aware of any owner belongings. I do keep the kitchen furnished with spices, sugar, flour, cooking oil, popcorn, some breakfast items, etc. and the bathroom with some essentials. Please know that anything inside the casita or in the patio is there for the guests to use. I do wish we had more storage space. Again, thank you for the review and recommendations. We look forward to you staying at Casa Carmelita again in the future! Best, Carmie and Dave

Lovely and convenient

Lovely Casita! Cozy, homely, great location.

Casa Carmelita was all we hoped for and then some. Location was great; walk into town was only 10-15 minutes. Everything went off without a hitch.
