Quirky, comfortable beach house

We loved the theme of the Beach Barn and found that the house was a comfortable stay. The location was hard to beat with great beach access and the recreation center nearby.

Perfect 'Barn' Beach Mini Vaca

Great home and layout for family of 3 during our 44th anniversary. A little bit of retro/country/beach mixture was beautiful and the home had everything you would need in the kitchen. Plenty of room and the covered side porch was great. Loved the shady driveway for the afternoon sun/heat! Thank you for your hospitality and hope to return.

Positives: Great location! Quick drive to restaurants and grocery stores. 10-15 minute walk to the beach. Close to the park. Great Farmers market nearby on Mondays. Lots of different types of seating all throughout the house and property. Beds were comfy. Board games and books available. Outdoor shower was nice. Only issue we had is the air conditioner went out the last night we were there. It was really hot in the house. There are many items provided in the kitchen, but you will need to bring things like plastic wrap, foil, zip loc bags, etc.. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. Kids and adults had nice time.

Charming from start to finish

The beach barn was a delight to stay in, with personal highlights of ours being the cheery, unique decor inside, the excellent location, and comfortable space. Our thoughtful host had clearly put a great deal of care into anticipating the needs of guests, providing beach towels, chairs, an umbrella, and other useful amenities that enhanced the overall experience. The host's attentiveness throughout our stay was also greatly appreciated, as they called to make sure we understood the risks of the ocean as a result of a tropical storm that went through shortly before our stay, something we land-locked ladies hadn't thought of. In the end, this vacation rental perfectly encapsulated the ideal beach getaway - a charming space in a prime location, with a host who went above and beyond to ensure a relaxing, carefree trip.

Great family getaway!

The place was super cute, and we loved being able to walk to the beach and nearby food options instead of having to load up multiple cars every time! The kids loved it so much they said they wanted to live there. Everything was clean and well-kept, and Cheryl was very helpful, even pointing out some things nearby we could do that we were unaware of. Will definitely be coming back next time we visit Oak Island!
