The cabin was clean, quaint and lovely. The views of the lake spectacular. We enjoyed being so close to the water and kayaks were available for use, which was a bonus. Gorgeous sunsets. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay!
The property is well maintained and the perfect getaway if you have beach plans in mind. A very short walk to the main beach and additional walking spots with waterfront views close by. We enjoyed or stay! Communication with the owners is prompt and helpful.
If you love birds and peace and quiet this is the place for you. Very comfortable accomodations with nature at your doorstep. Not many places like this on the planet.

Thank you kindly for your concise and moving tribute to Water’s Edge, Irene. I had to take a moment to digest it. I agree wholeheartedly that it is a special spot and I am happy to share it. Thank you for your kindness in filling the propane tank. I wish you both many more nature-inspired moments of earth appreciation.
My wife and I stayed here for a couple of days to relax and unwind, and this place did the trick! Watching the sunset and hearing nothing but the sounds of nature was music to our ears. The cabin was well-stocked with everything we needed, and the sunroom was a wonderful bonus—perfect for enjoying the views in comfort. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unplug.

The beds are fantastic. The view was beautiful and the surroundings very peaceful. Our dog loved the big open yard. Beautiful trees and a large variety of birds. Close to Winnipeg so not a lot of travel required.

Thank you kindly for your generous review, Carolyn. It was a pleasure hosting you and your family. Hope to see you again, lakeside at Water’s Edge. Darci
The beach needs some attention. It’s very rocky. The yard is beautiful and big, good for playing games and throwing frisbees and footballs. The beds are very comfortable, lots of towels. While there is no AC, there are plenty of fans and the breeze from the water is lovely. Lots of bugs, birds, frogs and unfortunately some snakes. Scary for some not expecting it. The host is very diligent and responds quickly to questions.
This cosy cabin was the perfect getaway and unplugged weekend. I appreciated the rustic side, combined with a modern bathroom and comfortable bed.It was a cold weekend, but the wood stove kept us nice and toasty. The views are beautiful of the lake at sunset. Our dog love jumping through the snow drift and exploring the frozen lake. It was peaceful, quiet and exactly what two burnt out parents needed. Just make sure to bring a charged booster pack in case the car doesn’t start. Thank you Darci for being accommodating to us while we waited for CAA to boost our car.
Water's Edge was a home to us, our friends, and our dog, for 3 nights. The private beach was beyond peaceful, with endless views across the quiet lake. There was a perfect location of shady trees to hang hammocks in the yard for daytime book reading and hangouts.
The place was clean and tidy and the bathroom was brand new! The views are stunning across the lake from the deck. Plenty of seating and our dog enjoyed the sunroom.
We enjoyed a BBQ on the deck one day and the store is a short drive if you've forgotten anything.
A fabulous getaway. Thanks Darci.

Thank you kindly for your beautiful review, Simone. You made the most of the best Water’s Edge has to offer. I’m so glad you enjoyed this special lakeside retreat. We’re open in winter if you’re up for a cozy winter getaway. All the best, Darci
This getaway spot was just what my sister and I needed for a short but meaningful dose of nature and time away from the demands of life. It was an easy drive from Winnipeg and it was lovely to be nestled within the trees with a private beach! This property is a unique spot with lots of green space and privacy! Although the water is shallow and rocky, we still enjoyed kayaking very much which is doable if you go far enough out from the shore (towards the left offered less shallow waters we found). There are two adult life jackets - one large and one small. We needed two large but we made it work. We couldn’t quite swim because the water is so shallow and rocky but we enjoyed just lounging around in the water. Water shoes are a must! Next time we might bring our own portable chairs to sit in the shallow water. The cabin was very cozy and had many amenities. My only suggestions would be to have more light and window coverings. It was very dark at night and we had trouble seeing when we were preparing food and eating. Light over the dining table would especially help. Overall our stay was simply lovely and I’d love to go back.Thank you Darci for hosting us!
Pros: very quiet and private. Right on the water with a small, private beach. Beds were comfy. Lots of cozy places to sit with extra comforters, pillows, and throws. Beautiful breeze when windows are opened. Blackout curtains. Updated cabin; windows, bathroom, doors, fridge, all look new. Host was friendly and helpful. Firewood, toiletries, coffee, floaties for lake, all provided. Very secluded, but close to store and main highway. Very easy drive from the city area. We enjoyed our stay.Cons: water was super shallow, rocky, and weedy. We still swam, but it could have been better. It is close to a nice beach, though. Lots of fishflies and seed fluff. The stuff is everywhere. Not something the host can do anything about, but annoying. It's all over the car, the house, the deck, the windows, the outdoor chairs. The deck was not really usable because of the bugs, cobwebs, and seed fluff. Luckily there is a nice 3-season room/porch. Some dust around the house (on the fans, shelves.) If you're picky about that. It didn't really bother us. Either a pro or a con: no wifi and no tv. It didn't bother us, because we wanted to get away from it anyway. We enjoyed playing cards (which were provided) and board games (which we brought ourselves.) We also enjoyed making s'mores on the beach. There were badminton rackets, as well.

Thank you for your feedback, Karen. I'm glad you got a chance for some r and r, games and beach activities. Prairie lakes do tend to be shallow but its all relative. I don't mind the walk to the deeper water. I do advise water shoes at the lakefront, as there are some stones, but directly off the Water's Edge beach it is not typically weedy, with a sand and stone bottom. That said, nature does reign supreme at Water's Edge, and there may have been some atypical growth. A healthy lake eco-system also typically has bugs and frogs, and they move through in seasons, as with the seeding of the trees. We do have a gigantic and very majestic cottonwood tree that was dispersing its seeds. Agreed that it's hard to keep up with the bounty of nature. While at times overwhelming, I find it a miracle to witness her tenacity. One can either be frustrated or astonished. Thank you for your visit, and I'm glad you enjoyed the cabin and its accessibility, privacy, and refreshed updates. All the best, Darci
