Carmen is a resident of Alburqurque and is on site, unlike out-of-state hosts/investors.
Her home is in the fly zone -many days hot air balloons fly over or near by. You literally have a birds eye view of them and, the birds!

The large bedroom has a wall of views - hot air balloons, the Sandia mountains, the Rio Grande valley and the city - twinkling Hollywood views from your bed or patio!

The bed is super comfortable! After the views, it's the #1 thing guests comment on.

Getting around is super easy and fast. All the attractions are within 5 miles. US40 and Rt 66 are 1 mile away and US 25 is 3 miles. The airport and Amtrak are 6 miles away.

We have two fenced yards for your pets to explore - $20 non-refundable pet fee.

You can self-check-in and will have your own gated car port with room for RV parking.

I thought Carmen's place was really nice. The yard is beautiful and I really enjoyed Carmen's artwork displayed. The bed was comfortable and the studio is tastefully decorated.

Safe and Close to I-40

Easy to get to from I-40. We had a quick overnight and great sleep knowing car was safe behind gate. In morning found a great local coffee shop, Cutbow Roasters, and local co-op for breakfast. Would stay here again, hopefully with more time to enjoy the views from back of property.

Property was just as described in the listing & had everything we needed for our 3 days in Albuquerque. Carmen was great, really responsive to messages & happy to let us check in early which was greatly appreciated. The views from the patio out the back were awesome too! Definitely recommend & would love to stay if we're ever back in ABQ.

Beautiful place to stay!

We were only here for a day, but we really enjoyed the stay. The apartment was quite nice and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed all the art on the wall, all of which was made by the host. We even bought one! The view from the backyard was beautiful. We met the host, who was very, very friendly. It was great having covered parking for the night. All in all, we really enjoyed our short stay.

Don't like leaving a bad review

I had picked this home because all the reviews were wonderful. As soon as we opened the door there was an overwhelming smell of dog/cat urine and it was unacceptable. if you are going to allow pets then you should either have tile or some sort of vinyl flooring instead of carpeting. The pillows were made of some sort of plastic that "crunched" every time you moved your head. My husband sweated so bad from the pillow that he woke up with a rash on his face. We would have been better off sleeping in our vehicle. Needless to say, our 2 night stay turned into a oe night stay. We left in the morning and went to Gallup, NM where we got a hotel room for the second night that we were supposed to stay in Alburqueque.

Perfect!

My husband recently retired and we moved from Ohio to our new home in Albuquerque. He drove, while I flew to be here when the movers arrived with our belongings. I needed a place to call "home" for a few days. I was pretty sure from the description that this was going to be the ideal arrangement for me. The photos really don't capture the true nature of the location. At night you can step out of your door and look down on city, with all the lights twinkling and the outline of the mountain in the back ground. The windows are tinted, so no need to pull the shades at bedtime. You can fall asleep looking at those same twinkling lights. The outside area also has a patio, with lots of artistic touches and very peaceful. There is a table with chairs, perfect for a meal, morning coffee or a late night glass on wine. Think of the space as a very comfortable, and well equipped, studio apartment. The owners have outfitted the space with quality furnishings; soft sheets, thick towels and a super mattress that's perfect for a good nights sleep. There are 2 friendly dogs, but if you don't happen to care for dogs, the owners are respectful of that and there doesn't to be any interaction. The owners can offer lots of tips on places to visit, and other info helpful. You can interact as much, or as little, as you want. Super friendly people. While there, don't miss the opportunity to visit Pat Hurley Park. It's just a couple of blocks from the house, and it's on a bluff that over looks the city. If you time it right, you'll be treated with the most amazing sunset!

This place gave us the creeps

Don’t know where to start so I’ll start at the beginning. We booked this property almost 4 months in advance. On February 6, 2022 we reserved and instant full payment was taken for this property. We also sent a long introduction of ourselves, to the host telling her about us. Red flag number one, there was NO response to our reservation or our introduction of ourselves to the host. No response for almost 4 months. Then a message with check-in information from the host, about seven days before checking in which would’ve been June 5, 2022. VRBO Recommends that host communicate with people within 24 hours. Another Red flag, all of the house rules that we encountered. House rules are fine but some of these cross the line into misrepresenting your listing. In her (host) only message to us before checking included please remove your shoes upon entering and place them on mat by the door. I thought maybe they just put down brand new carpeting. Not the case, when we walked in the floor is all tiled. So the fact that we had to take our shoes off and put back on about 50 times just bringing in our luggage didn’t make sense. It is listed as having a kitchenette.. so we thought great before arriving we picked up eggs to make the next morning for breakfast. Then we find out there is no stove or hot plate. So you cannot cook anything in a pan. I know it said there was a convection oven but also the word kitchenette leads you to think you might be able to cook some eggs. We had to throw our eggs out. Listed having Washer and dryer when you arrive you find out it’s by donation $. Also listed having Wi-Fi. We did not know only if you have 5G capability. Another red flag.. and this is a quote from her house rules” you are welcome to eat in your room. Afterwards please scrape the dishes and place the trash bag and dirty dishes in the basket under the coffee pot. Then just place the basket on your patio table and will dispose of the trash and we’ll wash your dishes for you!” This gave us the creeps, we thought of no reason for this other than bugs. What really gave us the creeps was sitting out on the patio.. the view is beautiful.. But not the view of the living room with a Old man in a lounge chair in shorts, watching TV and looking at us through large patio doors attached to this rental. Be aware you have no privacy on the patio. Also there were multiple locked doors that lead into our rental. Very very uncomfortable.!

I didn’t care for the kitchen set up. Needed a little counter space and a better refrigerator. Needs somewhere to sit and relax. Futon was not good seating.Loved the blinds on the windows.Easy access to get in and out of the door.Loved the view from the patio.

The place was very cute and efficient. The view was beautiful-it would have been nice to maybe have an umbrella to be able to sit out in some shade during the day. The air conditioner wasn’t working very well and maybe invest in some new bed pillows- but we enjoyed ourselves

Great view!!!

We were in town for a funeral and it was lovely to have such a lovely view to return to to watch the sun fade away and see the lights of Albuquerque come to life. This is not a fancy property but the bathroomUpdates are great and the kitchenette was adequate for our needs. Comfortable bed and good location. The covered carport is a great plus!Thank you Carmen, hostess with the mostest.

Albuquerque surprise!

Carmen's place is perfect to relax and enjoy an amazing view overlooking the surprising city of Albuquerque. We'd never been and it was a delight. The people, art and culture were great and we can't wait to plan a return trip. Carmen was easy to communicate with and the place was neat as a pin. The bed was crazy comfy too! She even had a booklet about the city and amenities that we found super helpful. I highly recommend her bungalow for a cozy and happy stay!
