This cottage is the perfect cozy getaway. This is my second time staying here and it was even more magical than the first time! Will definitely be back again!
Wonderful all the way around. The owner is delightful and provided many personal touches to make our stay special. The property is immaculate and pleasant. We enjoyed spending time on the deck, dock, and boathouse deck. We look forward to coming back in the future.
A bunch of us friends stayed for the weekend. The weather was cold and grey but we were warm and cozy and comfortable. Great spaces, kitchen, and views. We’re already dreaming of our next visit.
Our winter visit to the cottage was amazing. The space was even more cozy and comfortable in person than we had expected and the hosts were wonderful! We will certainly recommend and hope to visit again soon.

We had the perfect girls weekend. It was a great getaway for a group of busy moms. The host shared great recommendations on shops and had homemade chocolate chip cookies for us when we arrived- they were delicious. Thanks for everything!
This is our second stay at this beautiful cottage. We plan to make it an annual stay. Cozy is the word I use to describe it. Jane is the absolute best host!
We had a wonderful time at the cottage. We filled our time with puzzles, games, snow tubing, walks on the shore along the lake and even tried some ice fishing. My son was saddened to go. We would definitely rebook. The interior was so warm and cozy, a great place to rest and recharge. The hosts are fabulous. Overall very positive experience.
We had a lovely stay despite a rainy weekend. We enjoyed all of the board games provided. The cottage is beautiful and cozy. Jane is a great host! We will come back to enjoy the lake and sunshine next time.
the cottage was like something out of a movie. Lake Sylvia is the perfect lake for this VRBO, Quiet, clean, lots to do around the area or just sit back and enjoy the view. Jane and Ted are awesome hosts and they take care of their place for others to enjoy. We will be back. Thank you very much for sharing it with my friend and I who celebrated there 40 years of friendship.
The cabin is warm, well-appointed, and oh so comfortable. The host has a great eye for detail and made our stay a delight. Great views of the lake, very quiet, and we plan to go back soon!
Our stay in the Stone Cottage was just what we needed. We baked in the beautiful and well-appointed kitchen, crafted at the counter, finished a jigsaw puzzle, walked on the frozen lake, and read by the fire. Our beds were comfortable and helped us get some much needed rest. We had a beautiful and rejuvenating weekend in this special space.
Stayed here just after New Year, in the snow storm, beautiful location, far enough away to hear no traffic but close enough to everything that it didn't feel to far off the beaten path, Jane and Ted were great hosts and stayed in touch though the storm to check we were ok! Would definitely recommend

About the host

My husband and I had found an old cottage that sat next to the waters edge with an amazing setting of big mature trees and old stone walls and we couldn't resist the water clarity on beautiful Lake Sylvia- it's like a swimming pool all summer long. The cottage was in pretty rough shape so we built a new cottage with the vision of an English cottage that appears to have been there for years. It truly feels like an escape when we are there and has given us many wonderful memories. We hope you choose to stay and create memories of your own.
