We really enjoyed the table tennis and pool table. We have 4 adult sons so great to prove mother bear still can beat them. Rooms for all of us with no sharing.
House has a great view of Bream Bay, everything you need for a beach holiday and the host is easy going and communicative.
Looking forward to returning in January.
We loved our stay at the house!! Graham was great with communicating as well as giving us all of the information when needed. Loads of room, space and so many beds for us as well, fire place worked wonders as well as all of the heaters which was perfect for the winter, really good views and would love to visit again in the summer!
Large house, perfect for staying with extended family. Enough indoors and outdoors entertainment to keep all happy.Great views of whangarei heads and beautiful sunrises. Within 5min drive of beach and boat launch.Had a great time, thanks
Lovely home, amazing view, great location. We had 10 people stay and there was so much room. Lots of activities available, the kids loved the table tennis and playing outdoors with the net. This was convenient as we were there for a badminton tournament. Highly recommend and would love to return if there's another opportunity.
Just what we needed! Space and child friendly! Has everything you need. Loved the quiet town and gorgeous beach.Best of all was the view. This is an older, much used, much loved family home and it suited us, a family of 6.
We had a great time in Ruakaka thanks to Graham and his wonderful home. Lovely sunny, expansive space with everything you would need for a holiday. We were a group of adult friends but the home would also be perfect for families with children of all ages. Graham was great at staying in communication about all aspects of the booking, hopefully we will stay here again another time!
We loved our stay! The house is very cute, nothing fancy, but lots of charm and character. Very comfortable and cosy. It has everything we needed. We came with 3 young children: 2.5, 3 and 5 years old, they were happy with outside space and the house itself: lots of space, perfect for hide and seek, great layout for running around and exploring and lots of books. The view is amazing! Unfortunatrly, it was very windy and raining a lot, but we could still enjoy this view and also there was a lot of things to do inside the house we steongly recommend it as a great place for any family!
We had a great time at this classic kiwi blast from the past bach. The views are stunning and the fireplace was a cinch to use with ample dry firewood provided heating the house thoroughly for a nice winter getaway. Ruakaka beach is stunning and a short drive or bike ride to get there. Ruakaka has a small but well stocked supermarket so we able to cook yummy homemade meals in the well appointed kitchen. The house has everything you can want for in terms of a holiday - kids toys, books, games, dvds etc. some may find it a little cluttered but it worked out great for us. The kids also loved the trampoline (net free) and swing in the back yard. We are a family of five but the house has ample space for more. The owners were kind and great with their communication. Whangārei is only 30min drive so also made an easy day trip to kiwi north and the town basin with the perk of escaping back to beach town life easily to relax. Thanks for having us. We hope to return sometime.

Thanks for the review Hazel. You were great guests with great communication.
Graham and Mary are family people having raised 11 children and are now grandparents. They have enjoyed family beach holidays at this property since 1993, first as young parents after Graham's parents chose it as a retirement home and then as owners since 2008.
Why they chose this property
Within easy reach of Auckland, the house has panoramic views of beautiful Bream Bay and overlooks Ruakākā Beach, one of New Zealand's most highly rated beaches.
What makes this property unique
An ideal base for a family holiday with plenty of activities for children and young people.
