Water's edge. Generous living space. 3 bedrooms (sleep 6) + caravan (sleeps 2)
As a family we all own this little bach, thanks to our wonderful mum who first discovered the area and got the ball rolling. My name is Nikki and I generally look after the bach bookings. I live in Auckland with my husband and 3 kids and we come up as often as we possibly can, as does my Mum and sister. For us, the bach is a retreat from the madness of the city and a place for us to get together and create life long family memories. We are happy to share our bach on Homeaway/bookabach and hope that those who come to stay love it as much as we do.
nikki99 purchased this House in 2014
Why nikki99 chose Pataua
Our mum first found this bach when she went on holiday with a friend in about 2010. She fell in love with the area instantly and in particular the unspoiled little baches that dotted along the waters edge. When the opportunity came up to buy one of them, as a family, we all agreed it was a "no brainer".
What makes this House unique
The absolute beach front location along with the ever changing picturesque view across the inlet and ocean make this the perfect spot. We hope people will appreciate our love for all things retro, giving the house a charming and classic original kiwi bach style.

Gorgeous spot for swimming and relaxing
We loved this old-school Kiwi bach, which is right by a lovely swimming spot. It is one of the original baches on the bay, but it also has mod-cons like a dishwasher so suited us to a T. The kids loved the safe swimming area out front and we also visited the surf beach a few times. Possibly the best thing was the sheltered deck area out front to eat and drink on, with a stunning view of the bay. We would definitely stay again.
Great relaxing holiday spot
Great hide away area. When we told family and friends where we were going, Pataua South, everyone had to look it up on a map.
Wonderful surroundings, very enjoyable watching the high and low tide each day. We were lucky the weather was hot and sunny everyday.
Being a dog friendly place allowed our Gemma to hang out with us. We even got her to wade out in the water with us. (She’s not a water dog!).
Thank you for the use of the kayaks it was great being able to get all 5 of us on the water together.
The place was comfortable enough for 3 adults and 2 kids.
Would love to return in the near future to enjoy more!
Gorgeous place to stay
Stunning place to stay. Right on the beach, was wonderful and safe for our kids in the water. Bach was lovely, with plenty of room for our larger family. Highly recommend as a place to come to wind down.
So glad you enjoyed your stay. Welcome back anytime.
A little piece of paradise
This property is just gorgeous,a quintessential kiwi bach where you can just totally relax.
It is very well equipped for both adults and children and the location is stunning. The kayaks were an added bonus and we had a fantastic time.
I would totally recommend it as a great place to stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Thankyou.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write this lovely review. We always feel good when people love the bach as much as we do. Come again anytime and stay for longer!
