About this property
Tiny House/Retreat in Adelaide Hills. Secluded, peaceful, country views.
Eucalyptus Retreat- stay in this unique Tiny House in a pristine Adelaide Hills location. Built to delight, nurture and inspire, this getaway is set in a natural eucalyptus clearing with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Connect, unwind, immerse yourself in nature whilst enjoying this bespoke and luxurious space. Enjoy long walks with views of the Coorong and surrounding hills. Perfectly located to enjoy the wineries, country pubs, cafes and historic towns the area is famous for.
This Tiny House brings together key elements that make a place special – a hand crafted/locally built structure, well positioned to capture views in every direction, a sense of solitude, key environmental principles and an authentic connection with nature.
It sits robustly on an elevated clearing of our 20 acre rural property, secluded and surrounded by native flora and fauna. Not strictly off grid but powered by our excess solar energy it combines the convenience of regular electricity with high environmental standards There are resident kangaroos on the property which can be observed from the deck and picture windows.
Bedroom.
The Queen size bed sits partially separated at the far end of the structure with oversized picture windows. Relax on the super comfy bed gazing out at the rural scene bathed in dappled sunlight. We have used the natural products of linen, bamboo and organic wool on the bed and there is an electric blanket for those cold Adelaide Hills evenings, a ceiling fan and A/C for warm summer nights. There is ample space to store your personal belongings - Bags can be conveniently stored under the bed.
Lounge
The purpose built sofa is large enough to recline on and faces the deck and view promoting a sense of light, space and relaxation. The large coffee table provides a comfortable indoor dining area. The reverse cycle air-conditioner ensures year round comfort. There is a smart TV that you can hot spot from your phone for Netflix, Prime Stan etc. No TV antenna. We provide a hard drive with over 50 movies.
Kitchen
The kitchen is surprisingly spacious with hardwood benchtops and a large window overlooking a forest of slim gums. There is a small fridge, microwave, a 2 pot electrical stove, and enough cooking utensils to prepare simple meals. The kitchen is amply stocked with glassware, crockery and cutlery. Complimentary tea, coffee, milk and some basic pantry items are provided for your convenience. The fridge is stocked with ingredients to make a healthy breakfast (gf available if required) There is a picnic basket and thermos for guest use.
Bathroom
The generous bathroom also has a lovely view from the vanity basin, ample storage, a heater, hair-dryer and rainwater shower. In the bathroom, you will find clean lifestyle products from the Modere range. These personal care products contain ethically sourced, organic ingredients that are completely free from harmful chemicals – safe, effective and beautiful to use during your stay. The composting toilet is a swedish design, made in Australia and is quite odourless. It is comfortable and pleasant to use while ticking all the environmental boxes!
The Loft
This is an indulgent space accessed by a stair/ladder. Climb up to ‘The Bird’s Nest’ , recline on beanbags and 100% NZ wool carpet and soak up the views. You are literally up there amongst the tree tops.
The Deck
The deck provides an outdoor covered extension of the living space with recycled oregon timber rails and bar stools providing an outside dining area. The gas BBQ sits ready to use on it’s own handcrafted bench. At the bottom of the steps is the Fire Pit with wood provided for your use.
Guest access
Guests are able to access the entire Tiny House and it's immediate surrounds.
The retreat is set in a secluded elevated clearing on our 20 acre property.
Other things to note
This Tiny House is in native bushland on a natural clearing on private property. There may be kangaroos in the area that will move away when disturbed. For this reason, the House is unsuitable for pets and children. There is a 40m gravel path to the House. Off the path there is the usual hazards found in the Australian Bush - you are responsible for your own safety. We use a waterless composting toilet that is odourless and hygenic. The House is accessed by several stairs. If you wish to visit the Loft, you will need to climb a ladder staircase. Please note the bedroom is on the ground floor for your comfort and safety. Access to the property is on 2km of a well maintained unsealed road easily accessible by 2 wheel drive.
