About this property
Clayoquot Retreat - Steps from South Chesterman Beach + hot tub. Dog friendly!
Steps from South Chesterman Beach access trail, this stunning 3 bedroom cedar cabin is built on a private ½ acre property nestled within giant evergreens. Clayoquot Retreat is an original West Coast post and beam rustic cabin with 30 ft windows and updated amenities. Enjoy the outdoor hot shower after a beach walk/ surf, or cosy up to a fire with the wood-burning stove. Warm up in the hot tub while forest and star-gazing. Listen to the ocean waves as you sleep.
Clayoquot Retreat is perfect for families, a romantic get-away, or gathering of friends. The property includes a huge deck with a hot tub, outdoor table, propane bbq, and an outdoor fire pit in the forest with adirondack chairs. Inside, you will find a well stocked kitchen, wood burning stove, and good size dining table with seating for 6. The kitchen includes ample space for cooking on a cozy night in, with stainless steel appliances, an island, spices, a blender and hand mixer. For coffee drinkers, there is both a French press and a drip coffee maker, as well as a coffee grinder. We also provide a start-up of locally-made coffee beans from Tofino Roasting Co.
There is a master bedroom with queen bed and en-suite bathroom on the second floor. There are two bedrooms on the main floor: one with a queen bed and the second with a bunk bed and an adjacent bathroom. All beds have memory foam mattresses. Both bathrooms are newly renovated with heated slate floors and locally-made organic products (Botanical shampoo, soap and body wash from Tofino Soap Company and lemongrass hand soap from Mint in Ucluelet). The ensuite includes a stand up glass shower and the main floor bathroom includes a shower/ bath.
Outside, enjoy an outdoor hot shower perfect for warming up post-surf, as well as surf/ wetsuit drying rack. You will find wifi, books, board games, kids toys, two surf boards, and three boogie boards. We are family-friendly, and there are beach toys, kids and adult beach chairs, and a beach cart.
Other things to note:
A long-term Tofino resident lives on the property in a separate suite (as per District Bylaws and new BC short-term rental regulations). They have a separate entrance around the back of the house to ensure your complete privacy. Please note there are a maximum of two parking spaces available, per Tofino regulations.
Come relax and unplug. We like guests to know that this is a cabin retreat by the ocean and as such, we do not have TV or cable. We do have high speed wifi for those looking for a remote work spot.
We are dog friendly. Please inquire about well behaved dogs – please note this is a bird sanctuary so please ensure your dogs don't chase shorebirds.
For those with mobility issues, the main floor queen bedroom and bathroom are fully accessible (The bunk bed room has three steps to enter and the other primary bedroom and ensuite are upstairs).
