The Riptides - Oregon Beach Vacations

Welcome to The Riptides, a quintessential beach house offering 75 feet of ocean frontage and stunning views of where the Necanicum River meets the Pacific Ocean. Located in the highly sought-after North Prom area of Seaside, this beautiful home comfortably accommodates up to 9 guests, including your furry friend, making it the ideal Oregon Coast vacation rental.

As you enter through the dining room, you'll find seating for 9 guests, plus a highchair for the little ones—perfect for family meals. The fully equipped kitchen provides everything you need for preparing meals during your stay.

The living room offers a cozy retreat with a flat-screen TV, a selection of books and games, and breathtaking ocean views. During cooler evenings, enjoy the warmth of the wood-burning fireplace. This level also features two bedrooms—one with twin bunk beds and another with a queen bed and ocean views—along with a full bathroom.

Step outside to the unique wrap-around porch, partially enclosed to allow year-round enjoyment. The porch includes a picnic table, outdoor furniture, and a charcoal BBQ, perfect for coastal meals regardless of the weather.

On the lower level, you'll find a fun recreational area with a foosball table, as well as a bunkroom that sleeps four, with a queen bed and two twins. The lower floor also includes a bathroom with a shower, a separate exterior entrance, and a laundry room with a washer and dryer, offering both privacy and convenience for your group.

Whether you're visiting Seaside for a family vacation, beach getaway, or exploring the Oregon Coast, The Riptides will be your perfect home away from home.

Dog Friendly for up to 2 dogs, no other pets allowed. Please do not leave dogs unattended at any time in or on the property.

Please note the third floor of this home is not available to rent for guest usage.

Great property

This place is great. Great views, well appointed kitchen with new appliances, lots of comfy seating. We really enjoyed our stay. The basement is cold, but I like cold for sleeping. Might bring slippers if we stay again.

Underwhelming

Our party consisted of grandma, our 2 year old, myself and my pregnant wife (8 months). Well maintained property and clean. HOWEVER, the downstairs "bedroom" or activity area, or whatever they advertise this as is just a basement with beds and a bathroom added. This area is FREEZING cold and never heats up. The floors are like ice (linoleum squares). Grandma and our 2 year old had to stay upstairs together in a room where it was warm and my wife and I had to sleep in this bedroom (remember, she is 8 months pregnant. The vent that heats this "bedroom" is fully exposed and is one of the loudest things I have ever experienced in a rentable home. This should not be used as a bedroom. This is not what we paid for. There should be some sort of notice for these things and I wish people would really review places properly. It sends the wrong message and makes people think these things are ok. There was construction next door, again, no notice of this. Its just common courtesy. You can really tell this is managed by a management company now. Nothing is personal and getting help is impossible. Check out is 10am which is very early, 11am seems standard. (WARNING TO FUTURE PEOPLE) I don't know, just book somewhere else for the same price. We have stayed in Seaside many many times at various places over the last 7/8 years. Other options are available. Consider them!

Great place to relax with dogs

We just needed a restful getaway so this house was perfect with comfy leather couches and amazing views. Plenty of trails in the seagrass for private walks with the dogs and beach was not far. Kitchen was very well stocked, maybe a bit small for cooking but we mostly ate out. The parking is tight, we had a 3500 diesel truck that took up the whole area and fortunately the construction workers next door were courteous and did not block us. It was noisy and crowded the whole stay because of them but they were friendly. The outdoor fire pit was missing and we had hauled wood all the way from MT for that. The Foosball table is in bad shape but we had fun playing anyway. Overall we really enjoyed the house and highly recommend!

Overall Impression

The view was impressive. That was the best feature. It was close to the beach and 12th street bridge for crabbing. We had to do quite a bit of cleaning of the property. Management can ask us for details. The beds and pillows really need to be replaced. There was construction going on next door which we were only alerted to the day before our stay. Overall, we would not stay here again.

Our recent stay was our 3rd or 4th stay at this property. This trip was just the two of us, other trips were with our adult children- our largest group was 7. We also travel with our 2 small dogs. The home has everything we’ve ever needed for a great getaway. Our longest stay was 6 nights. Great location. Comfortable home. We absolutely appreciate the owners taking such great care of the home and willingness to share it. 5 star!!!

The house was very nice. The basement is not super inviting but the upstairs is super awesome and cozy. Everything was pretty clean except the floors had some dust and dog hair when we arrived. Overall would recommend!

Issues we encountered

1) Location was great but we were not told about construction right next door. It was noisy during the day.2) wifi information emailed to us was wrong 3) the windows in living room facing ocean were so dirty, we watched the view with a dirt filter 4) sink in the upstairs bathroom kept clogging,water pooling. 5) we had to take the bed linen off the beds? Do you not have cleaning crew to do this?

Great location. Though property was not very clean. We had to call for the cleaning crew to come out and clean. While it was gettng clean we had to leave the property and wait. Not ideal.

Quirky Fun Home on the Beach

Our family stayed here during Spring Break and we loved the beachfront views from the picture windows, the amazing location that was close to everything, and the fun decorative touches throughout the home. The main floor bedrooms, the bathrooms and the kitchen are small, but the living spaces are huge, so it worked well for our family. Pups loved the easy access to the back yark and beach. The backyard is well lit at night--a nice feature for evening pup potty breaks.

Wonderful stay

The property was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Maybe could use a couple more kitchen pots-but I did quite a lot of cooking. Everything was convenient, even had pizza delivered, and the neighborhood was nice with the residents very friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beach was perfect, and the time with distant family, priceless!

Not What We Expected...

This "home" is not a single home, it's part of someone's house and the owners live upstairs. VRBO description does not include "owner on premises". Needless to say, we were surprised. Location was good - great access to the beach and home is pet friendly. Not clean, pretty dated and there were 6 in our party, only 4 bathtowels for a 3 day stay. It's a down and dirty beach house - no frills. Will not be staying there again.

Great views and easy walk to the beach!

The location and access to the beach is the main attraction of this house. You can walk right down from the house. A littler farther from the downtown area, but can walk to it. Difficulty getting Ubers or cabs while here. The interior is a little older, offers plenty of space but the basement having half the beds is a downside. It does have a slight smell as described in other reviews. Porch is awesome to sit on. Easy walk down to the be beach. Be careful of walking bare foot in the grass, there are these little weeds that have spikes on them which hurt two members of our party.

That main room...

We booked the trip for the extended family based on that main room to hang out in and look at the surf. It did not disappoint. The house is old and has a mix match of updated things and older. So the guts of the house aren't 5 stars but the location is! This is past the boardwalk so there is no one walking in front of the house. As a matter of fact it's far enough from the boardwalk that the stretch of beach in front of it has far less people than down the beach. The only negatives are 2/3 rooms. Having a bunk bed for a married couple isn't ideal. That basement room with a queen and thrown in twin beds isn't the best either. But they are all functionable. They have a wood fireplace but don't have any wood. A small bundle of wood would have been a nice touch. Back to the positives: Nice drip coffee maker. The wifi is good. We felt the kitchen was stocked well enough. Lots of seating at the tables for dinner. We would definitely consider booking again. The only thing that would make us think twice are those odd sleeping arrangements. But when it's all said and done we would likely rebook.

Birthday

We stayed here for a 60th birthday with sons and wives. This was a 70th birthday and it is just perfect. The house is peaceful and welcoming. The view is everything! If you have someone that can’t navigate the uneven ground and/or the loose sand, they will feel part of it because the water is right there, you can hear the waves. They are responsive to any request and always helpful. They have games and books for you. We saw some buckets, kites, kid items. I hope we can have someone’s 80th birthday here. We love the dining table that we can all fit around. Did I mention we love this place…Thank you
