The host was great at communicating and very helpful. She allowed an early check-in due to our international flight and early arrival. The unit was very clean and accurately shown in the photos. It should be more clearly explained in the listing that this is a shared residence. Guests are renting a bed and very small bathroom on the ground level. The second level is the living area/tv room/lounge and kitchen. This level is also occupied by the host’s adult daughter and her boyfriend who live in this condo. The third level is the host/daughter’s bedroom. We were surprised to find that the main living area was occupied by the host and offered to be shared. There is only one entrance, used by everyone, and the ground floor VRBO room is not able to be locked.
Place is very centrally located, you can easy walk to the port, downtown and Parnell. Surprisingly not too noisy, despite the train passing by just 100m away.We found there a garage (very nice) which is quite small but fits for most standard cars. Pickups and Vans are to big to fit in. Garage is part of the flat; very small kitchenette, fridge, microwave, washing machine and dryer are placed there. Sleeping room is very tiny, bathroom is even more tiny. There is a living area w / kitchen upstairs which is a SHARED area. There is a young couple living there and you will have to share it w/ these guys. This fact is not clearly described in the text but can be found at the picture underlines. So read carefully and decide whether this is ok for you or not.We found the situation a bit weird. The guys were not very communicative. Sometimes it seems they even avoided to see us.Overall, the place is even not good valued, but this is Auckland, isn't it?P.S. Communication w/ Cool Places was fine, but sometimes they shared broken links. No idea what went wrong then.
