Beautiful place

Listing is correct absolutely perfect place to stay right on the beach location was perfect it's a quite beach for relaxing no crowds walking distance to the pool 20-30 min drive to some nice restaurants we ate at Gilligan's seafood so good vist the old parish church ruins it was neat

Harbor Island Condo

As usual we had a great vacation at Harbor Island. This was our first time in this unit and we loved it. It is listed as a one bedroom, but also has bunk beds in another room, so it is really a two bedroom. Great use of space. It was decorated very nice and clean. Being an end unit right beside the boardwalk to the beach was also a plus. We hope to stay there again.

The location over all was nice but there were a few issues that made the stay less than ideal. The sheets were stained and there was a random hole in the wall of the master bath, that creepily looked like someone could set up a camera, and the Wi-Fi wasn’t stable so the TVs kept freezing. We have stayed in the resort before and the grounds a beautiful and when we had an issue with accessing door, we called customer service and they were extremely helpful. We would stay again but maybe not in that unit.

We followed up with the owner, who would like to address the following:- The small hole noted in the bathroom was from a missing door stopper, which will be promptly replaced.- We personally handle all cleanings and would not have placed stained sheets on the bed; this was an unfortunate oversight and will be addressed.- The Wi-Fi signal can occasionally fluctuate within the resort, but we’ll look into optimizing connectivity for future guests.We appreciate your comments and are committed to ensuring each stay is as comfortable and worry-free as possible.

First of all the lack of communication was a major issue I direct messaged through the app about a possibility of an early check in on Monday keep in mind the trip was in 6 days I never got a response . The day before we had not received our check in instructions or the door code I had to call Vrbo and chase down some one to get that info . Upon arrival the space was nice but the owner had the thermostat locked at 70 on A/C so my menapauseal wife was miserable the whole time if I’m paying for a place I should be able to control the thermostat.Then it was bed time the king size bed had one of the worst mattresses I had ever slept on needless to say I will not be staying in this particular condo again .

We booked this condo late and weren’t sure what to expect as we had never been to Harbor Island. We were pleasantly surprised. My family and I have been going to low country beaches for 10 years and this was the best stay we have had. The condo was clean and comfortable. The entire place is updated beautifully. The bunk beds in the bonus room were great for our boys. The host had everything in order and was very responsive. It is truly steps to the beach which is beautiful and perfect for kids. Wildlife is abundant too. I can not recommend this place enough and we will definantly be back.

Excellent location, great condo

Very newly renovated unit with excellent access to the beach and pool, corner unit right by the boardwalk. We loved the easy access to the beach! Unit was very clean, all new furnishings and comfortable bed. Excellent unit for 2 adults, or two adults with younger children with the additional bunk beds. Washer and dryer were excellent, very fast and efficient. Would definitely return to unit, thanks so much!

Abrupt Eviction & Misleading Amenities

I booked this condo believing my psychiatric service dog was welcome, since both Evolve and VRBO assured me when I called to confirm. I depended on renting a golf cart for my 78-year-old mother so she could have some independence, yet I discovered the owner forbids rentals when the golf cart company called to say the owner wouldn’t allow it—a policy not disclosed in the listing. After I raised this concern the owner responded with "the beach is close enough" shortly after I received a call from Evolve, suddenly given one hour to address a “dog problem,” despite legal protections and prior assurances from Evolve and VRBO, which felt retaliatory for suggesting she disclose her golf cart restriction for future guests. Security arrived within that hour to evict us at night. I reiterated that my dog was a service animal but was told the owner didn’t care, forcing me, my children, and my mother to pack hurriedly and leave our groceries behind. Although we received a partial refund for unused nights, it didn’t offset the stress or cost of relocating on short notice. Compounding the discomfort, the owner appeared to be monitoring us through a Ring doorbell and in person, I recognized her from a photo displayed in the condo’s materials.Moreover, the listing claimed there was a grill “on the porch,” it was not, another issue for anyone with mobility challenges. My suggestions to clarify these misleading details were dismissed. Location is beautiful, the experience not so much.
