I was in town to visit family and last minute illness at my brother’s place forced me to find alternate accommodation last minute. I found this VRBO and thought it would do the trick, as it’s close to my family’s house and inexpensive. I couldn’t tell from the listing description if the VRBO was private or if it had a separate entrance, but crossed my fingers. Upon arrival, I saw that only the bedroom, which is upstairs, is private. The bathroom is shared between the VRBO guest and family who lived in the house. Further, although the host offered a house key, it was clear that that was not their preference, claiming that someone was always home and the door would be unlocked. If the listing included more information, such as the shared bathroom and family living in the house, I would not have booked this VRBO. That said, the bedroom and bathroom were reasonably clean and the family is generally quiet. If you want a hostel style experience, book this VRBO. I did not want that, but since things were so last minute and I was only at the VRBO to sleep, I made the most of the situation.
