About this property
La Maisonnette
309503. Living in this little house is a delight. Small and cute, it's perfect for romantic stay or family vacations. With its private entrance, you will feel at home. Unique and rare house in Old Quebec, you will live in complete privacy and in great calm. It's a little paradise in all seasons. This charming little detached house was once a typical stable of old Quebec. Now on the ground floor the kitchen, dining room and living room are open concept. There is the sofa bed. The underfloor heating makes this space very cozy in winter. Upstairs are 2 comfortable and intimate bedrooms, each with a Queen bed. There is also the bathroom and washer dryer. A jewel of tranquility ideally located next to the famous Château Frontenac, which will allow you to find the apartment very easily after a walk in the neighborhood. The location is very central, in the Upper Town, 2 minutes from the charming Dufferin terrace where the view is remarkable over the St. Lawrence River. Dufferin Terrace and its fairytale castle are two attractions that never cease to amaze visitors and locals alike, offering spectacular views of the St. Lawrence River and its ever-changing icescapes in winter and of sailboats in summer. The street is very quiet but you are in the heart of tourist activity and everything can be done on foot. Excellent restaurants are within walking distance.

The house was amazing! Everything was clean and the house was beautiful. The host responded to all my questions promptly. The location is ideal for walking around Old Quebec. We will stay here again when we return. If you’re thinking about staying here, just book it. You won’t regret it!
Loved this sweet vacation rental in the heart of Vieux Quebec! Our host was super responsive and helpful, the place was beautiful, and conveniently located just a block away from the Chateau Frontenac and the Finicula.I would book here again.
This apartment was in a perfect location, walking distance from all of the shops and dining that Old Quebec City has to offer. The beds were comfortable, the space was very clean. Although it could be tricky to find the host gave very detailed instructions on what to do and we had no issues. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to enjoy some time in Old Quebec City!
PERFECT location for our vacation in Old Quebec as unit was almost next door to Chateau Frontenac! We were able to walk everywhere during our stay- parked our vehicles in the parkade Thierry recommended and didn't take them out again until we were leaving. Instructions and video for access, location, parking, etc. were very clearly stated and easy to follow. We were two couples travelling together and the unit with two bedrooms suited our needs well, although it may seem small for a larger family. Thierry was very responsive when we reached out with a question involving the tv connection. We had a problem with the light sconces on the walls both in the living room area and the small bedroom upstairs as could not get them to turn on. We could have messaged Thierry again to question, but opted to manage using the other lights in the unit. We enjoyed our stay at "La Maisonnette" very much and felt very comfortable and safe there. Thank you Thierry!

Thank you for the nice comment, Kenda. I will check the wall lights to see if they are working properly tomorrow. Thanks!
While the property location was perfect however the unit was not ready for us when we arrived. Beds were unmade bathroom was not cleaned and had to put towels in the washer. Called property manager or owner who apologized and was going to have someone right over Cleaner arrived in about an hour and spent 2 hours cleaning and preparing the unit. We lost 3 hours of touring the city due to this delay. If the unit was ready for us it would have been a 5 star review

Thank you for your feedback Andrew. It's appreciate. The cleaning was indeed not done and it is very unfortunate. The situation was due to a misunderstanding between myself and my new cleaning lady. We reacted instantly and she was able to come and clean within half an hour. Sorry again for this inconvenience and delay. As compensation for your 3 hours lost and your generous understanding, I have just reimbursed you for the $120 exit cleaning fee. I hope to see you again and welcome you as I always try to welcome my guests: perfectly and in a clean space!
The Good: Excellent location right in Old Quebec. Quiet street. Clean. Easy parking nearby. The Bad: If you have small children, the open staircase is super dangerous. There really should be a rail on both sides. If a kid fell, they couls be severely injured. The bed in the largest bedroom and the sofa bed are terrible. The bedroom one is so saggy and lumpy. I woke up each night aching and unable to sleep. My friend and her daughter were on the sofa bed and it was so bad they had to just put it on the floor to not have the springs and bars under their backs. Mattresses in a box (Purple/Casper) are so cheap now, the beds need an upgrade.

Thank you Courtney for your comment.
I'm sorry you didn't sleep well. This is the first time anyone has commented on the master bedroom mattress. Personally I sleep very well on it. I'm surprised but I'll look into it. Regarding the sofa bed I agree with you it's time to replace it. The replacement is already planned, and the installation will take place soon.
I like to travel and stay for a while in the same city or village. I like to receive my guests and participate in their stay in Quebec City by offering them an apartment that gives them a change of scenery.
Why they chose this property
I chose this area because it is very central. Located in the Upper Town there is also more light and proximity to very beautiful views of the river. From St-Denis Street or Terrasse Dufferin. There is more space than in the Lower Town where the houses are closer together and the streets are narrower. In my opinion in the Old Quebec it's the better place to be. Life is good in this part of the walled City.
What makes this property unique
Living in this little house is a delight. It's quiet and we sleep well there. At the same time the tourist activity is on the next street. It is beautiful and reminds me of a doll's house. All the girls in my family love it. It's a house and that's rare in old Quebec. It is a very intimate and private place. We feel good there.
