Tucked back on a quiet country road, this waterfront cottage on 1.5 acres is sure to be a place that your family will want to come back to every year. Far Far Away is a 1800 sq ft newly built and beautifully decorated cottage on Simmons Lake near Magnetawan. With all the comforts of home, the cottage offers 2 screened-in Muskoka rooms so you can sit peacefully relaxing, listening to the loons or watching the Humming Birds. This natural wooded lot has a board walk for an easy walk to the shoreline. The large dock and swim platform along the 300 ft of waterfront is your gateway to great fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking on this quiet spring-fed lake. The quaint nearby town of Magnetawan offers you a grocery store and restaurant, LCBO, Farmer’s Market and great sight-seeing. The vibrant town of Huntsville is just 30 mins south.

We loved our stay at this beautiful property. It is just as beautiful in person as it is in the photos. The hosts were very responsive when we had a small issue. I can't thank them enough. We would love to return.

A home away from home. This cottage is beautiful inside and out and had everything you need to be comfortable and more. The kitchen is beyond equipped, the place was sparkling clean and every detail to ensure a comfortable stay had been thought of. Greg was an excellent host, the communication was clear and accurate. Thank you for sharing your wonderful place with us, we hope to visit Far Far Away again soon!!

This really is a delightful airy pleasantly cool property with plenty of natural light, a place secluded enough to be private but close enough to shops etc just a few minutes down the road. It was super clean when we arrived and the wifi worked perfectly. I particularly enjoyed rowing and kayaking on the lake and sitting next to the busy hummingbird feeder. The handful of neighbours are far enough away that you don’t hear any noise. Highly recommended.

Amazing destination

What a fantastic long weekend getaway at the far far away cottage. The pictures don’t do this cottage justice, it’s absolutely stunning. Everything was better than advertised and the host was easy to communicate with. 10/10 on all fronts and will be returning next year.

Fun at Far, far Away

Our group of six adults was fortunate to enjoy three nights at the end of July at the cottage named Far, far Away ( named for a place in the movie, Shrek) Situated on a private spring-fed lake, it is exactly as presented in the listing. The water was perfect for swimming, fishing and paddling around. The hammock was a hit too. The cottage -more like a lodge -is fully equipped and very comfortable. We had a bbq each night followed by a campfire. The wood was provided by the host. Communication with the host was excellent. I would highly recommend Far, far Away and would love to return.

Far, Far Away was perfect!

We had a little trouble finding the cottage, but that was no fault but our own as we put the directions in wrong. But...once we got there...we were blown away by the place. It was absolutely mesmerizing. Everything inside was clean and organized, not to mention there was tons of things to use! (I.e., paddle boards, paddles, kayak, fishing rods, kitchen cutlery/utilities, towels and bedding). The huge window was where I spent my rainy mornings, looking out at the gorgeous view. The host was also super active in answering any of my questions while we were there. I would say the only reason this amazing place lost a star for this review would be because of the rules left on paper at the cottage. All of them made perfect sense (how to use the fancy BBQ, how to use the dishwasher, etc.), but one of them was about taking all your garbage & recycling with you when you left, as well as make sure thr place was exactly how you found it. It made the additional $200 cleaning fee feel a bit unfair in the end. Either way, this was a wonderful experience - our indoorsy kiddo got out there and fully enjoyed the outdoorsy experience, so much that she wants to go back again next summer. Thanks, Far Far Away!

We do ask that you leave the cottage neat and tidy when you leave but we don’t expect it to be spotless we do have a professional cleaner that comes in after every stay to take care of that:) looking forward to having you as a guest again next season.
