Welcome to our cozy gateway getaway.

A private setting with a private entrance will make you feel at home when you arrive. Whether you are here to unwind from the busyness of life or you are here to escape the busyness of the office, we have you covered.

Located in charming Grimsby, away from the big city's hustle, we are at the start of the Niagara wine route, with over 50 wineries. Nestled between the escarpment and Lake Ontario, we're 30 minutes from Niagara Falls and an hour from Toronto. Our newly renovated, private unit offers all the comforts of home including an outdoor patio for dining. Ground floor level with street parking. We are located a short walk to the lake (5 minutes) and downtown Grimsby (10 minutes).

Here for the fish? Hook up with a local charter whether Lake Ontario for Salmon or Lake Erie for Pickerel. It's all within reach.

Here for the wine route and wine tasting? Over 50 wineries on the world-famous wine route of Niagara.

Here to see the famous Falls? Within a short drive down the QEW, you have all the sites and sounds of the most famous honeymoon capital of the world.

Here to see Toronto on your visit? Fred knows the city like the back of his hand. Need travel advice? Just ask. See a Jays game in the summer or, in the winter, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Maybe you are a soccer fan - see Toronto FC, our professional soccer club. Maybe you wish to see the sights and sounds of the city? Fred knows them all and where to go.

Need advice? Fred and Theresa have lived here pretty much all their lives. Fred is a foodie and knows the places to go. Theresa is the one who makes all things sparkle and shine. We both can direct you to the best places to visit and when the best time is to go. If a good local BBQ dinner or homemade Canadian breakfast is a request...who knows?

Garbage and recycle can be placed in appropriate bins in the little shed outside.

It is preferred that all dishes have been washed and put away before you leave, but, if necessary, at the very least, be sure all dirty dishes have been placed in the dishwasher and turn it on.

About the host

Hosted by Fred and Theresa Post

Theresa and Fred are familiar with hosting, as we used to have a short-term rental cottage a couple of years back. Fred was originally from the Netherlands and is still proud of his heritage - loves the food, loves the soccer team, and can still converse, write, or read Dutch. You might even catch the Dutch flag flying once in a while (mostly during Soccer championships though).
Theresa is a local girl and takes pride in her desire to make everything sparkle inside and to design and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the rental space. She is a teacher for elementary students and loves her job.
Fred and Theresa have six grown (almost!) children and are on the new adventure of grandparenting. They both love cooking and meeting new people.

Why they chose this property

We live on the property and love the location. The unit was used as a long-term rental for the past ten years and is attached to the rear of our home. We decided to change it to a short-term rental because we have kids who live out of town. This gives us the ability to let them use it when it's available. We have a nice private location, as shown in the pictures; it's quiet and within walking distance of pretty much everything. We are close to Niagara Falls, close to Toronto, between 2 great lakes for fishing, and of course the view of the escarpment. We also have our church nearby so that means lots of people we know and get along with.

What makes this property unique

We desire to make your experience one of a kind. Fred works from home and is usually designing in his office at the back of the other side of the house. So if advice is needed when visiting or needing help avoiding tourist traps, we are available. We may even be able to serve breakfast or BBQ once in a while (fees vary). ;)
