Best Location on Lake!

The owner's of PaPa's Haus have meticulously, renovated and comfortably appointed, (upscale lake/bear theme), not just the house, but also the extensive porches and decking around the main house and the two boat houses on water's edge. We have been staying at a tiny cottage next door to this home for 25 years, and it was easy to vacation in such a small place when the children were little, but now they are all grown with significant others. We searched this location, (which is hands-down the best on the lake In terms of the breathtaking views and it's proximity to grocery and other amenities), and we are so grateful to have found this incredible new rental listing!

We had a fantastic time at the lake! The house was great and the views were incredible!One thing I'll say is that we reached out to the rental agency to help us with the ice maker not working and never got help with it. A little bit of a bummer to not have ice for the weekend.

The property is very nice and for the most part it's as advertised. The inside was very clean except for the basement pull out bed. We had to wash those sheets before sleeping on it, I think this was just overlooked.The outside was a different story. I'd guess this property hadn't been used since before the hurricane that devastated the area. Being the first since the opening of Lake Lure may have been a bad idea as it was apparent no one had put much effort in cleaning up the outside decks. There was mildew on a lot of the outside area, a LOT of spider webs. We spent a good 15-20 minutes cleaning away webs and killing spiders so we could sit outside, especially since we had a two year old with us. I'm sure it was a challenge paying attention to these sorts of details after all that has happened to the area, but from our perspective, if one is going to go ahead and start renting this property, at a premium, getting it fully ready should have been a priority.
