About this property
Dream Log Cabin on Big Creek
This log home was built in 2007 and features a spacious well supplied kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Hand crafted woodwork is found throughout the house. Two fireplaces compliment the great room and the lower level man cave. Three private bedrooms and a loft bedroom compliment the home. There are 2 1/2 bathrooms with a whirlpool tub in the master bath.
Located on a large section of private waters on Big Creek you can walk out the back door and fish secluded areas. Walking down the quarter mile driveway leads to vast areas of snowmobile and walking trails. Large sections of state land for deer hunting and upland game with this area being known for its grouse and woodcock populations.
Four miles from the world renowned fly fishing destination of the North and Main Branches of the AuSable River. The near by rivers have an abundance of natural trout in them for the fly fishing enthusiast. Local guides are available for instruction and float trips. The outdoor enthusiast is always within minutes of their destination.
Golfers are fifteen minutes from the world class Garland golf Course and only 40 minutes away from the beautiful courses in the Gaylord area.
Snowmobilers can take the driveway and go any direction, taking trails that cover huge areas of northern lower Michigan. Cross country skiers can travel 15 to 20 minutes to trails a Forbush Corners, Garland Resort or Hartwick Pines. Walking out the door and skiing on 60 acres which the homeowners often do is always an option.
If just relaxing and getting away from it all is your passion then enjoy the swing on the large front porch with your morning coffee or sit on the back deck overlooking a meadow with Big Creek flowing through it. A portion of the deck is screened for your comfort.
This log home is a hunting and fishing cabin. There are many wildlife and fish mounts throughout the house as well as pictures and books about hunting and fishing. If any firearms are on the property they will be locked in a safe.
All together this is what Northern Michigan is about.
We built this cabin because of it's abundance of wildlife and it's access to the local rivers. We have enjoyed the beauty that it presents to us on a daily basis.l
