Bring the family and your favorite pups along for this retreat with unobstructed ocean views and all the conveniences, including an elevator, heated private pool, hot tub, 9 bedrooms (7 of which have a private bath), 8.5 baths and all the space you will need to unwind in splendor!

Head to the beach on your private walkway with a gazebo overlooking the ocean. Carova beaches are beautiful, and you may get to see the wild horses!

The pool was closed, hot tub hot. The place needs some TLC. Cooking utensils were minimal. All doors needed work. Outside premises need a good clean up. Boardwalk to beach across the dunes is non-existent. Interior overall is adequate. The lazy Susan cabinet door is unhinged. Some pickets in the staircase and overlook areas are loose. At winter rates you can only complain so much. If it was prime rate there would have been a crew there full time.

The house was located on a 4 x 4 only beach, which would have been fine if we had been informed prior to our arrival about the conditions to expect and the proper way to navigate them. We arrived after dark, during high tide, with inflated tires. We should have been told to watch the tide charts because the beach becomes impassable at high tide. We were not, and barely made it to our turn off because it was a shortly after high tide. We should have been told about letting the air out of the tires to make driving on the beach doable, which we were not. This resulted in us getting stuck in the sand and a costly towing bill. We were advised against driving the beach at night by the tow truck driver who said it was very dangerous if you were unfamiliar with the beach. There are many hazards that could have ruined our vehicle if we hit one, luckily we didn’t. The constant monitoring and worrying over high tide and our schedule made for a miserable trip. We were obviously not from the area and consider it negligent that the leasing company did not give us any information other than we needed a four wheel drive vehicle.

We’re sorry to hear that your arrival was stressful.\ All of our 4x4 properties are clearly identified as being located in the four-wheel-drive area, and we do note that a 4WD vehicle is required. The beach conditions in this area are natural and can vary daily depending on tides and weather. Because of that, we strongly encourage all guests to review local driving guidelines for beach access prior to arrival, including lowering tire pressure and being mindful of tide cycles both of which are standard practice for safe travel in the 4x4 area. Many visitors who are new to beach driving find that arriving during daylight hours and checking tide charts in advance helps make for a smoother first experience. We understand that arriving after dark and near high tide can add additional challenges. That said, we truly regret that this created frustration during your stay. The four-wheel-drive beaches are a unique and special part of the area, but they do require preparation and comfort with off-road driving conditions. We appreciate your feedback and will review our pre-arrival communication to ensure expectations are as clear as possible for future guests.
