We have 2 deer feeding stations in the ravine and in view from your deck. They are lite up at night so you may enjoy the wildlife as they come in to eat through the evening. You will see them often as they sprint across the property. June is especially fun when the fawns start following their mommys around the area.

Full disclosure
Our residence is between the loft and the lake about 1/4 of the way to the lake. The loft is up the hill and you have great views of the lake, 330 yds. from the waterfront. The Loft is in a quiet residential area on Lake Logan. There are other vacation rentals and full time residences all around our 7 acres. It is private, not secluded. We are a non-smoking private residence and allow smoking on the Loft deck only. We do NOT provide any kind of maid service, so please pick up and clean up after yourselves. There a microwave, stove top, coffee maker and toaster, but no oven. There is a full flight of stairs to gain access to the Loft.

Hocking Hills

We visited Hocking Hills State Park and our stay in Evelyn’s loft was just lovely. The loft is top-notch and had every amenity. It was private, quiet, and very well maintained. Five stars!

Enjoyable

Went away for our anniversary- took 1yo with us. Loved the location close to parks, cute property, easy to locate. This current property allowed kids, other than having a pack n play, would not recommend for small children.. lots of cute decor for temptation. Steep stairwell.. it's the prefect getaway when child free 🙂

We booked for 3 nights, but after the 1st night, we decided we were enjoying the loft and our getaway so much, that we added an extra night. Everything about the loft was top notch. We enjoyed the canoes that were included, and went out 2x on the lake. Although not as private as other cabins we’ve been to in the area, it was private enough to suit us

The best we’ve stayed in yet.

We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend in the loft. We used the kayaks everyday. SO fun! Lake Logan was BEAUTIFUL! We hiked the different caves that were close by. Evelyn has everything you need in the loft, from Shampoo to maps and menus. Shes fast to respond to text and it’s obvious she put a lot of time and care into her place. We can’t wait to go back!

Just a wonderful experience

We really enjoyed our stay, had such a great time. This was our first visit to Hocking Hills. The loft has a beautiful view of the lake and we spent many hours just sitting on the deck entrance looking out over the lake. The gas grill worked out great for us since we brought most of our food and avoided restaurants. The hot tub seemed brand new and the led lights were a fun touch at night. The check-in process was smooth, and this place comes with so many extras (like Kayaks) I wish we would have had more time to do everything. Beautiful place, beautiful area.

Lovely place, beautiful views

The loft is charming and has moved to the top of my list on pleasant experiences. Everything is spotlessly clean. Thought appointed and lacking nothing. Watered and convenient. The sauna was a surprise as it is new since I made my reservation. I really enjoyed using it. It has a lovely view of the lake. The entire cabin and deck have beautiful views of the lake and the ravine. Firepit was very private and so beautiful. The high-quality Adirondack chairs were clean and comfortable. Next time I'm going to bring my granddaughter. She will love fishing off the dock. I'm coming back in July to take advantage of the kayaks and I want to see the gardens in their full glory. The butterfly garden is especially intriguing to me. The clay sculptures throughout the 7 acre property are lovely touch. I understand they are made by a local artist. I thought we would get out and do some hiking but the property is so inclusive we never felt a need to leave. We did go around the corner for coffees and breakfast. Cute little shop. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Truly a beautiful loft and view.

The ceilings and floors are outstanding as well as most of the decor and it is very roomy. I believe the owner wanted to make the loft "homey" but we felt there were too many rules and a lack of privacy to make this a five star stay. Immediately upon arrival, we were instructed to remove, fold & store the bedspread to preserve it's beauty. Use the provided slippers - no shoes inside.....I would have much rather had a serviceable spread that did not require us to "work" and been assessed the common sense to know to remove dirty shoes. Whereas we appreciated clear and concise instructions, the list a bit overwhelming. The pictures don't provide a clear image of just how close the owners home is to the loft. Having to walk through their yard to get to the lake felt intrusive and uncomfortable. The lake was stunning. The stairs are steep to get to the loft. Not an issue for us, gratefully, but the flower pots on the stairs are silly and made bringing our luggage in challenging. Aside from being inside the loft, there is no privacy.

Upon arrival we realized just exactly how close the owner’s home is to the loft… very close. Also the owners home is directly in front of the loft. To get to the lake, you must walk through her yard. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and paid for 2 nights. We left Friday- not even caring that we were losing our money from the second night. Shoes must not be worn in the house. There is a very detailed list of rules and instructions. Bring your own set of dishes- we purchased paper plates. While beautiful, all the dishes were fine China type dishes. I feel she decorates with these. We looked for plastic cups in the cabinets…go buy some. Your deck is on the side which if you sit on, you are looking at the large chalet which had guest inside. It feels as though you are looking inside their space if you are sitting outside. The white bed spread and pillow shams must be taken off the bed and placed in the back of the closet. There are ample pillows and blankets to use. No oven, just a cooktop. The step leading to the cabin are steep. There are lights on the railway but only a couple were working. This is very dangerous! I mentioned this to the owner. Thank goodness we had our phones to use our flashlight. There is a deck box down by the hot tub with specific hot tub towels. I knew this prior to going down to the hot tub since I read in the book that you could only use those towels for the hot tub. After getting out of the hot tub and dripping wet, we realized that there was only 1 hot tub towel! The book also states to put in chlorine in the hot tub after each use. There was only 2 pre measured cups of chlorine. If you wear makeup you have to use the dark towels only! Friday morning we got up and did some hiking and exploring. We probably needed to shower but literally got back to the loft and was like, let’s just go home! We packed up our things and cleaned the cabin. Upon removal of the bedsheets, I discovered a large stain on the mattress cover. It was probably the final straw. I carefully read through the other reviews before leaving mine. The responses to the reviews are always an argument back from the owner. If there is onsite maintenance then the lighting on the steps should have been addressed and known about. If there is a cleaning crew, the stain should have been addressed. In another person’s review someone mentioned the old spices and the response was that those spices were the owner’s grandmother’s spices-a heirloom sign is needed.

The place was beautiful! The bed was so comfortable! It was a great location to just about everything! The only down side was the 20 steps into the place! Hard after hiking all day. Did not use the hot tub or sauna. Everything else was wonderful!!

A fantastic experience

This was a phenomenal property to stay at. I really appreciated how clear the directions and communications from the property owner were. The location is great - perfect for hiking around Hocking Hills. At first I was a bit hesitant about the decor in the property, but it eventually grew on me - I love all the little decorations and details everywhere. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a quiet, clean, visually stimulating place to stay.

Absolutely wonderful!

My husband and i spent our hineymoon here. We couldn't have asked for a better spot. First night we went down to get firewood and we saw the most docile deer just checking us out. It was magical. The property is very close to everything and is gorgeous! We will stay here again!

We are mother and daughter, Catherine and Evelyn. We moved to the Hocking Hills in 2006 and have enjoyed the area very much. We started a vacation rental business in 2014 with a one bedroom cabin in the loft of our barn on our lake front property, called Lake Logan Loft. It has been such a wonderful experience over 3 years that we decided to sell our rental business in another part of the state and invest in really special residences that we could share with you! Welcome to our Cut Above Cabins, in the Hocking Hills. We have 3 large Lodges each in secluded wooded areas on several acres each. We also have Château Lake Logan in a quiet residential area on the lake with 3 one bedroom suites and 1 two bedroom suite. We hope you will choose to stay with us when you plan our vacation to this special area known as the Hocking Hills Region.
