About this property
Lucy’s Place by Swan BnB Management
Welcome to the Great Southern! Tastefully renovated house centrally located in Mount Melville. This is a great base to visit the many stunning beaches (Misery beach was voted Country's best for 2022), walking and cycling trails, epic hikes and also the Porongorup wine region. Something for everyone and we’d love to welcome you to this beautiful part of WA!
Self check in but we are available by phone, text and email for any questions or emergencies.
Mount Melville is the western border of the city with the house approximately 2.5 kms to main street – York Street. There’s plenty of tourist attractions in and around Albany including the ANZAC centre, Historic whaling station as well as many other natural sights, beaches and walking / biking trails:
(a) Middleton Beach – 5km, less than 10min drive
(b) Emu Point Beach – 9km, 11 min drive
(c) ANZAC Centre – 5.5km – 10min drive
(d) Whale Museum – 20min drive
(e) Wine Region (Porongorups) – 30min drive
(f) Town centre (Brig Amity) – 2.6km – 5min drive
(g) Activity centre – ALAC, less than 2km away, 4min drive
(h) Mount Melville lookout tower – 2km away, 5min drive
The porongorups are a great area for both wine lovers and nature lovers. For wines it is best known for award winning reislings but also pinot noir, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Plenty of scenic walking and biking trails with amazing views and native flowers.
Entire house
Lucy's Place is located in lush Mount Melville which forms the west border of the CBD. Upstairs the house features airy open plan kitchen, dining and living space inviting plenty of natural light. There are two queen bedrooms and one with two singles (each room has it's own portable heater) plus a generous sized bathroom and a relaxing bathtub for the days you need to unwind with a book (and if you forget your own, there’s a selection of books in the downstairs retreat).
A romantic fireplace helps warm the house for the chilly nights keeping you cozy and the well-appointed kitchen with large oven, stocked with basic needs (tea, coffee, oil, herbs), flows seamlessly to the dining space with an 8 seater table to entertain. Double doors lead out to a cute alfresco area overlooking the generous and immaculate backyard, a great space to watch the kids kicking the footy.
For those that might need to work away from home, there’s wifi and a dedicated work desk downstairs which also features an ensuite, comfy couch and downstairs alfresco area. This is also a wonderful private space to curl up with a great book and cup of tea while looking out to the lush gardens, or to sit and meditate.
The house is a great base to visit many stunning beaches like middleton beach and emu point, walking and biking trails, hikes and also the Porongorup wine region – something for everyone.
Driving is the easiest way to get around although there are lovely cycling trails if you don’t mind some hills! 😅
There is a set of stairs for the down stairs retreat and the garage is used for storage so won’t be accessible, parking is in the sealed drive way.
Check out is strictly 10am . A late check-out fee of $70 applies for departure after this time, with an additional charge of $70 for each hour thereafter.
*Prior to your stay, we require you to complete a pre-arrival form and sign & agree to our rental conditions.
