The description of otterburn hall doesn't give the true reflection of the site, the hall & its surrounding ground are in disrepair there is no restaurant with full menu/ breakfast only and the bar has no draught larger only cans, the lodge however was lovely & cozy well equipped for our stay, nice hot tub & lots & wildlife on your doorstep, the red squirrels & reindeer were the highlight of our trip, there is some lovely walks through the woods and surrounding areas there's a lovely dog friendly pub restaurant within walking distance in otterburn village
5 friends seeking a relaxing getaway and we found this little gem. Booking and communication was excellent we had to change our dates at short notice which was no problem. The lodge was beautiful, so many little touches from decor to candles and was very well stocked with everything you could need. The setting is stunning and we really enjoyed the wildlife and our little red squirrel pal who came each day. Would absolutely stay again.
Sara and Chris were the perfect hosts. They really made our break away something to remember. The Snug had everything we wanted and more besides. The Valentine treats were a lovely gesture and much enjoyed. My little girl slept on her rose petals every night!
Everything was so thoughtful from the extra bird and squirrel food to the sliders for use in the hot tub, which we also loved.
We loved the walk to the lake and had a delicious meal in the Coach House, but the highlight was our 'pet' red squirrel who appeared on the decking every morning. My little one had never seen a red squirrel before!.
Already looking to come again.
Thanks again Sara and Chris. X
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Snug. Cottage is beautiful inside, and the owners clearly put a lot of thought it to making the stay enjoyable, with a welcome basket, board games to play, and a booster seat for the littles. The cottage is within a lodge park of about 15-20 similar cottages. There’s a nice walking path within the lodge.
Re: staying during pandemic. The cottage was clean, and the owners clean the hot tub between guests. Hand sanitizer was available. For future guests, recommend doing grocery shopping before you get to the town of Otterburn (there’s only a small convenience). There’s one place that does takeaway option in town. The restaurants seemed nice, but didn’t seem like they offered outside eating options. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your kind feedback. Best wishes, Sara
Wonderful cabin, beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped, with hot tub regularly maintained. Just the perfect size for what we needed, with the bonus of three rooms meaning personal space for the kids. Highly recommended. Absolutely loved our short (two night) stay. Only downside was the proximity to other cabins in relation to unfortunate events on night one. Second night was perfect after dark, with everyone on site respectful and quiet after 11pm, but our first night was ruined by one neighbouring cabin blaring out loud music til late, with drunken yelling and generally selfish behaviour when you consider the majority of other cabins seemed to be primarily occupied by families, some with young kids. Seemed like a party going on; music eventually died down but had been forced back inside by that stage, and the cabin was thankfully well soundproofed. Awoken by intermittent yelling, screaming and slamming doors between midnight and around 1am, coming from cabin/s behind us. Guessing there was an argument going on between the 'party cabin' and a neighbouring cabin or cabins. So upsetting, laying awake listening to that after a long, tiring week of sightseeing and days out nearer the coast. Had moved inland for a couple of relaxing hot tub days at the cabin, but that didn't make for a great first impression. Would've appreciated an on-site presence to police that kind of thing but it seems each cabin is privately owned, as there's no central cafe/shop etc.
The lodge was beautiful and well stocked, the owners were lovely and helpful. It was in a lovely area, perfect for stargazing. Plenty of days out around the area, would definitely come again. 100% recommend. Perfect holiday.
Beautiful cabin, it was a home from home, I would definitely recommend
Location was stunning surrounded by countryside and wildlife, we seen red squirrels, deer and many different birds, the property was lovely, felt really homely and the hot tub was fantastic

Hello, thank you for your feedback. There have been many improvements to the site since your last stay. We hope to welcome you back to the Snug again! Best wishes.
Had a little break away with our teenagers who were home from uni. Perfect size for a family of 4, beautiful lodge with everything you needed no issues what so ever. Only constructive feedback would be to have an illuminated lodge name / sign on door. Also would be useful if the park itself was to have a few signs as we spent more than half an hour in the dark trying to find the lodge, lucky we had a torch in car.
Pleasant stay in nice well equipped lodge . Well maintained hot tub.
Nice touch bird and squirrel feeders enjoyed watching birds and saw a
red squirrel. Good walking area.
Would stay again.

Thank you for the feedback, we will take on board your views.
We stayed on an incredibly rainy weekend which would have been miserable in most accommodations but we had a lovely time just staying in and around the site. Sara went above and beyond with communication to make sure we were happy.
