About this property

Monthly Stays with a View at the "Roadrunner Respite"

Enjoy unobstructed mountain views and easy access to downtown in our mid-century home. The unit is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and digital nomads looking for a place to call home for a month or longer.

I'm happy to offer fast and reliable wifi (87 Mbps), smart TV (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Amazon Prime), powerful central AC/ heat, ample off-street parking, comfortable and stylish furniture, and unparalleled views of the San Jacinto Mountains.

I'll be available via text at all times, and my property manager will be available in-person as needed.

THE SPACE
My place is one unit in a three unit home (triplex). The unit is open concept with a living room area and dining area that leads to a full kitchen. There is one bedroom with a full closet and a bathroom. The folks in the other two units are longtime Palm Springs residents and are very thoughtful and courteous neighbors.

I spend winters in the apartment to be near family, so it comes equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable long term stay.

The bedroom includes: a queen sized Casper mattress, sheets, duvet + comforter, a dresser for clothes storage, small desk, and full size closet for ample storage.

The bathroom includes: bath towels, hand towels, toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo + conditioner, and a stall shower.

The kitchen includes: paper towels, dish soap, dish detergent, sponges, extra lightbulbs, trash bags, tea towels, sandwich bags, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, a complete set of dishes and cookware, salt + pepper, additional spices, olive oil, basic baking supplies, laundry detergent, and a full suite of cleaning supplies.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Racquet Club Estates neighborhood is mid-century haven in the northern part of Palm Springs proper. The famed Racquet Club resort was the heart of the the city's glam from it's opening in 1934 into the 1970s.

Today the neighborhood is easily accessible from the airport and the highway, and is experiencing a boom in development as the town's energy stretches north. A short (5 minutes) drive from the unit will get you to all the other treasures in town, including the aerial tram, the art museum, the air museum, Tahquitz Canyon, Moorten Botanical Garden, a trove of historical mid-century architecture, and top notch vintage and design shopping.

Farther afield but all within a 90-minute drive is Joshua Tree National Park, the Salton Sea, Slab City, The International Banana Museum, Anza Borrego State Park, and much more. My family is from the Valley so I'm always happy to provide suggestions in the area.

Parking is easy at the house (unassigned, ample off-street) and you can access all of town within just a few minutes via car. Uber and Lyft are also a great option.

Quiet and Inspiring Desert Getaway
Mason’s home is a cozy and comfy getaway that makes you feel like you are in the middle of the desert and yet just a few minutes away from all that Palm Springs has to offer. The place is perfect for a solo traveler or a couple, including a standing workstation that is super convenient for remote workers! The bed is comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. And one of the major highlights is opening the door to an outside patio and garden with uninterrupted clear views of the San Jacinto mountains! Perfect setting for those who like meditation and connection with nature. It was our second stay and hopefully not the last one. Highly recommend!

Good location Comfortable place.
We enjoyed the place it is in a good location, near stores and the home has what you need to eat at home. Nice open area to enjoy the weather. The place is a bit minimal we had to add a few things to feel at home for the length of our stay, a dresser for our clothes would have been good. We used our computers to watch TV from our Sat system at home. The Internet is very good, for just a bit more there could be TV stations. We used an antenna and got local stations over the air which was great. We made day trips to the desert and saw the living desert place. We recomend the place for a winter get away.

Host profile image
I'm a Seattle snowbird working in the outdoor recreation industry.

I love the desert sun, hiking, cycling, herbal tea, yoga, meditation, and slow dinners. I enjoy thoughtful design, hot springs, road trips, hosting friends, and time with family. I split time between Seattle and Palm Springs.

Although I'm new to VRBO, I've been an active Airbnb host and guest for years.

Why they chose this property

I have family up and down the valley and I love spending time in Palm Springs, especially in the winter. I love the spacious lot of this property and its orientation to the mountains. The view is spectacular, and I enjoy watching the details change across the seasons and throughout each day. I greet each day watching the morning light grow across the mountains, and in the afternoons, enjoying direct sun from the patio chairs.
