Ideal for a peaceful stay in the countryside for anyone who wants to try something different. Sited on a beautiful lawned grass paddock with views to the coast over open fields. A truly wonderful setting.
Glamping is combining both yesterday’s amenities and today’s technology. Also called boutique camping or luxury camping.
The shepherd’s hut (or shepherd’s wagon) was used from the 15th Century and into the 20th Century by shepherds during sheep raising and lambing, primarily in the United Kingdom and France. Shepherd’s huts often had iron wheels and corrugated iron tops. Sometimes the sides were also made of corrugated iron.
Use of shepherd’s huts by farmers reached a peak in the late 19th Century and dwindled in the 20th century with the advent of mechanised farm machinery and electric power reaching even remote farms. Their use persisted in some northern counties of England and Scotland particularly Westmoreland , Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.
Our Shepherd’s hut combines tradition and luxury it has a very luxurious double bed with Egyptian cotton bedding and storage underneath. The kitchen area has a small butler sink with hot and cold running water, a storage cupboard and a two ring hob with grill and oven, full size fridge and a Nespresso coffee machine.
There is a fold down table with two chairs, a small log burning stove. There is a feeling of calm for people to de-stress chill out and relax.
TV and free Wifi
There is also a table and chairs for dining outside the hut.
Free Wifi and and luxury coffee :)
We meet you on arrival to welcome you and show you around. We are also available during your stay if needed.
