Thank you for your review. On arrival I addressed a few issues that you had over the outside dining area the same day. Unfortunately we can do nothing about the surrounding areas regarding the dog poop on the land to the side of the house. Not all dog owners are responsible people and it is an issue the community keep addressing.

Regarding this review. When the guests arrived, I walked around the villa explaining everything to them about the house. I then asked them if everything was acceptable. It was Saturday evening and they had a long drive to arrive. They told me everything was okay. I asked them if they wanted a laundry change after the first week as it was a two week booking. This is something we offer though not everyone accepts. they said yes and also that everything at the house was fine. When I went to do the laundry change there was no one at then house which is what happens lots of the time. I noticed that the coffee table was damaged and that there was a blue golf tee lying on the table. The sofa was reversed and pushed up against the TV table and the coffee table in front of this. I took a photo of the damage as it was not like that when they arrived. The guests were aware that I had been in there to change the laundry and said nothing. Upon departure I asked the lady who works for me to check the coffee table and see if they said anything to explain the damage. When she arrived they had bought a table cloth and had put this over the top of the coffee table to hid the damage. This table cloth was not at the house previously as the table was alway uncovered and undamaged. When the cloth was removed and the damage uncovered they denied all knowledge of this. There was a long discussion with the guests when I arrived and several bad comments made against myself. There was a problem with translation as I had to speak to the guests sister who was translating the conversation. I have been renting out this property for 14 years and never had a problem. the damaged table was part of a furniture package which is all matching and I do not think I can replace the table with the same one. The damage was obvious and new as the surface which had been damaged was very white and not dirty. Upon departure and the cleaning of the property it was also noticed that the work-surface in the kitchen had also been damaged by someone placing a hot pan on the surface during it. This had also been covered with a chopping board and was not noticed until the board was moved the clean the house. I have been running my business for 14 years and this is the first time I have had to withhold a deposit due to damage caused by the guests. Normally the majority of guests treat the houses like they would they're own homes and there are no problems.

Regarding your arrival, I do ask people to call me when they are leaving the airport so that it gives me time to arrive in the area you are staying at and maybe the wait might not have been so long. I do my best to be there on arrival but sometimes when it is busy that is not possible. You should have told me about the problem with the shower and I could have had the problem repaired as I have a plumber on call. Regarding the pool, these are cleaned weekly and the net is there for fishing out the bugs as that is something that needs to be done daily. We maintain lots of pools weekly and do recommend a sun screen that does not dirty the pool water as we do know the need to use the sun screen for the children especially. The pool water was tested and the readings were perfect. this was done in front of your partner even though it had been done previously by the pool cleaner who shook his head as he works hard in the heat to keep the pools clean for the guests but when guest use excessive sun screen it is impossible to maintain the water quality. Any ear infections was not caused by the quality of the water as the readings were taking using a good quality testing kit and the readings were shown to you. The use of the sun screen was so excessive that we had to treat the pool twice to clear up the water. The next week when I went to check the pool again with the pool cleaner one of the men was there and I pointed out the green scum that had attached itself to the top of the pool water level which is from the sunscreen used and said that the pool cleaner would clean this off with granulated chlorine and an abrasive pad. The man offered to do this for us which I thanked him for. Regarding the pool lights, we prefer that guests do not turn these on as they often do not turn them off and break the lights. I will speak to the owner about installing a timer so that they come on and off automatically. I did not know there was a problem with the light outside of the back door? Regarding the wasps nest which was roof height below the roof tiles. One of the men said to me that it was not causing a problem but that he just wanted me to know it was there. Had it been causing a problem I would have called someone in to have it removed. I am sorry that you feel I did not look after you well as it is something that is very important to me.
