Taigh Dollaig

Taigh Dolag is a traditional croft house that offers modern comfort in a secluded location with exceptional views. Situated in an elevated position in Eyre on the eastern shore of Loch Snizort Beag on the northern coast of Skye, the location commands outstanding views out to the Minch and the Outer Hebrides in the distance.

With only a 7 minute drive to Portree, the island capital, and a 10 minute drive to the Western Isles ferry terminal, the house is ideally located for those wishing to tour the island, and further afield.

With modern furnishings throughout, the two bedroom house offers a comfortable base to explore Skye, or just to relax and take in the magical scenery. There is a comfortable living room with a wood burning stove, one double bedroom, one kingsize bedroom, bathroom and a large fully equipped Kitchen diner with french doors. The house has central heating and a private garden with seating area.

Located on a working croft, we will be tending to livestock daily and are unable to accommodate pets. Private parking is available. The house can accommodate a maximum of 4 people.

We experienced another enjoyable stay in this home. I loved the quietness and scenic views that the location offers. The home is quipped with all items and appliances that you may need. We also loved lighting a fire in the evening in the stove in the lounge. Very much looking forward to returning in the near future.

We loved, loved this stay. It might have been the cleanest rental we have ever stayed in. It was scenic and just a short distance from town. We had detailed info before our arrival. It was perfect. I would stay there again and highly recommend it.

Great Property

Dailag Tolag was an excellent place to call home for 5 days. The Croft was well equiped and very clean. Even had egg cups!! It was very easy to access and really quiet.The views very amazing. Will definitely recommend to my friends.

Scenic sundowns and silent nights

We really enjoyed the week on the Isle of Skye. The location was perfect for us. Away from the town of Portree but close enough for shopping and dining. We could reach all sights as it is located centrally. We would recommend some more furniture outside due to the sunny and hot wheather this year.

Absolutely amazing stay

This was one of my favourite places to stay amongst all my travels. Such a well taken care of property with absolutely stunning views. The host Joan was very welcoming and informative. The check in process was so simple and easy. The location was great, very close to Portree (10min drive) but at the end of a quiet road so there was no traffic noises. I hope I can come back!

Absolute heaven

It was the most stunning, light filled home with every comfort we could hope for. The owners were so helpful and we couldn't have been happier. The views from the property are mind blowing and the house and garden are wonderful. Location right outside Portree made everything very easy. We are dreaming of coming back!

Perfect Spot

We loved Taigh Dolag. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking and we found it to be just as listed. The location is amazing - quiet and private. The house has everything needed and is incredibly comfortable. Views are spectacular and the sheep outside were fun to watch. The furnishings and extra touches made this everything we hoped for. We would love to stay again!

Cozy cottage with stunning views

This cottage wonderful! Picturesque, roomy and private. Well appointed and we loved that it had a wood burning stove. ❤️ The bathroom is not near the bedrooms which during the night wasn’t great but otherwise we thought it was a perfect place.

Home away from home

In a whirlwind 2 week tour of Scotland: this house was so inviting and beautiful we instantly felt at home in it. Even though it rained nearly every day and we did not get to see a sunset the views from every window were still breathtaking. We had everything we needed and then some! Lovely amenities including jam, tea and coffee, and even locally made soap. Can’t say enough about this place and would absolutely stay again.

Father-son trip to Scotland

This was our second stop on our Scotlandtour. This accomodation is really something special. Bathroom and kitchen are absolutely clean. You have a breathtaking view from the sofa of the living room to the nearby bay. So you feel immediately in deep relaxation. It was extremely difficult for us to have to leave this place after three days.

Peaceful cottage with great views

We had a lovely stay in Taigh Dolag. The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac, meaning only the occasional sheep or cow is walking past the house. The house is comfortable and nicely furnished, with lovely touches such as soap made on Skye. We enjoyed the welcome pack consisting of shortbread biscuits, jams and coffee. The kitchen is well equipped but a few more plates, mugs and glasses would have been appreciated, to avoid having to wash up by hand or avoid running a half-empty dishwasher. That said this wasn't a big issue; just mentioning here as a suggestion. Beds were comfortable and duvets nice and warm. There's a log burner in the lounge, we didn't use it though because it was warm enough when we stayed. Portree is only a short drive away and has a large supermarket. All in a wonderful stay!

The croft was clean and well appointed, with a breath taking view! Being at the end of the road, it was very private. We did lose power one night, but Joan was very communicative throughout the outage. Our wuestions were answered promptly and the location was perfect for our site seeing itinerary.

Extremely quiet, the view from the property is great, and it's about 10min drive from Portree. The kitchen is great and the kitchenware is of great quality. The house warms up quickly.Great stay. Note the actual location shown on the website is slightly off compared with the real location (about 100m away).

We had an amazing time visiting the Isle of Skye and the Taigh Dolag house was an amazing place to come back to after a day of hiking and exploring! It was just so cozy and felt like home as soon as we walked in! The views were incredible, sunsets at night, fires in the morning to warm up the house - I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay! Don't hesitate to book this house!

Our stay in Taigh Dolag was an exhilarating experience.The picturesque view from room was always refreshing along with the comfortable warm cozy rooms and beds .The dining room was very spacious and lovely.We loved playing scrabble and card games.The informative books, travel magazines on Skye were lovely to refer for the hikes and explore various places in Skye. We would love to come back to Taigh Dolag once again whenever we visit Skye. Highly recommended for families!
