We were fortunate enough to spend five weeks in Emerald Woods. It didn’t disappoint. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. A spacious home from home. Exactly like the photos. The property is in a quiet residential area just eight minutes drive from Speightstown (a car is essential) in St. Peter. Lynda is an excellent, friendly, responsive host. Any issues we had were dealt with promptly. If you are considering booking this property don’t think twice! Thank you Lynda. See you next year
Could not have asked for better accommodation. Everything was provided including beach chairs, parasols and cool boxes. We had the time of our lives and can't wait to go back next year. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and well maintained and furnished. Also in a great location.
I have just spent a lovely two weeks relaxing at this property. It is just as shown and described so no hidden surprises!
Lynda had great communication from the time of my booking and throughout my stay which was greatly appreciated.
The house is equipped with everything you would need and want including a decent sized television in the lounge area which I’ve noticed is rare during my stays in Barbados.
The location of the property is in a very quiet but close to Speightstown and Holetown if you’re looking for a bit of life.
There is a nice breeze during the day if you open up as suggested and the bedrooms have ac.
If you’re looking to escape to Barbados but don’t want to be in the pricey tourist areas I highly recommend staying at this property to unwind. Plus if you don’t feel like travelling to a beach there is a lovely plunge pool just outside to cool off in!

Lovely home in desperate need of some TLC
We spent 30 days in Emerald Woods in January. Lovely home tucked away in a great quiet location away from the hustle of the busy south and west coasts, yet close to many of the beautiful places Barbados has to offer. Being our first time in Barbados, to explore and fully appreciate the island we rented a car, but many places you might wish to visit are accessible by local transport.
Now, perhaps because of the time of year, we arrived (Jan 4th) to a very dirty home in great need of maintenance and repairs. The spare bedroom and bathroom were filthy. Dust bunnies the size of large cotton balls. Toilet and bathtub and tiles filthy. Probably not used so not cleaned in months. The floors through the entire home were not even swept, never mind washed. Thick layer of dust /dirt on everything. The home is in desperate need of maintenance and repairs. Kitchen sink and bathtub were not draining upon our arrival. We got it to work but the problem kept coming back. The spare room en-suite toilet needs a new fill valve. The current one is corroded and beyond repair. Water runs all the time. Couple of Kitchen cabinet doors about to fall off as hinges are broken. Dishwasher floods the kitchen if used. Ant hills in every kitchen cabinet as the kitchen cabinets have not been cleaned inside for a while. Bathroom Towel rack falling off the wall. The grass was not cut for the entire month we were there and ended up over 2 feet high. The home needs to be treated for ants.
We communicated with the owner who was very quick to respond and acknowledge our concerns but did very little to correct the problems, at least while we were there. We can appreciate and understand the challenges of being an absentee landlord and perhaps all the issues we experienced during our stay are one off , but we do feel that any guests coming after us should be aware of these issues, and make sure that’s all of these problems have been addressed, if they are important to you and play a role in your decision to rent the home. We cleaned the place on our arrival and several times during our stay. And despite the disappointment in the state we found the home in and the fact that we had to wash all dishes by hand on our vacation, we ended up really enjoying our stay.

We have just returned and have been absolutely delighted with our stay here. Beautifully furnished, comfortable and spacious. Everything was there that we needed and more. Lynda is a star. We felt looked after from day one, she genuinely wants to make your stay the best it can be.
We hired a car at the airport and found the villa with no issues, even in the dark.
Five minutes drive to quiet beaches, supermarkets and restaurants.
Exceptional property and host. We will definitely be back.
Loved this place, everything about it was delightful. Clean, well decorated, comfortable, good location, well stocked and exactly as described. Especially enjoyed the cooling pool and the air conditioning.

Thank you so much for your review and also for being such amazing house guests! The place was spotless when we arrived and the cleaner hadn’t even had a chance to come in. Do come back again 😀
The property met my expectations for the 7 night stay. Unfortunately due to the time of year(shorter days) and the nature of my trip, I didn't get the time to use the splash pool. The upstairs rooms were kept cool by leaving the door open to the patio . I found an adequate amount of kitchen utensils etc.
I thoroughly enjoyed the tranquil surroundings and the privacy the property gives not forgetting the view of nature looking out from the upstairs patio.
I would recommend this property not only for the value for money aspect but if you are looking for a break away from the main tourist scene..NB a car is highly recommended as means of getting around !!!!

Located near Windsor/Ascot in the UK with husband and 3 grown-up children. I enjoy making our Barbados home available, for hopefully a reasonable price, to enable people who might otherwise feel that Barbados is too expensive for them to experience the magic of Barbados.
Why they chose this property
Beautiful location, so quiet and secure with lovely views
What makes this property unique
Quiet location. On a Sunday as the tradewinds blow you can hear the choir singing at the local church. Huge master bedroom with the biggest bed in the world! High vaulted lightwood ceilings upstairs with mahogany staircase and beautiful little terrace overlooking countryside. A real feeling of space and very private. We can be at the beach in 5 minutes but lovely lazing in the pool in inflatables keeping cool.
