Staithes is within the North York Moors National Park so stunning scenery and traditional Yorkshire villages are in abundance. The village has a good local pub serving food, as well as a shop for essentials. Staithes is a great place for fossil hunting and in the summer you see many children enjoying searching the rock pools and crevices for these fossils. The village is like stepping back in time with its cobbled streets and quaint, quirky cottages that lead down to the harbour where you can sit and enjoy a drink with the locals at the pub. Staithes has now become a great artists retreat with an excellent art festival held every year.
The property is perfect for those walkers amongst you as you can walk along the clifftops following the trail to Whitby and further on the Robin Hood’s Bay and Ravenscar. The town of Whitby is just 8 miles away and is one of the most visited fishing towns on the coast, famous for the abbey being the inspiration to Bram Stoker’s book ’Dracula’. Felicity House is a great base to see the best that Yorkshire has to offer. Beach 200 yards. Shop and restaurant 400 yards, pub 200 yards.

Although the cottage was lovely and homely I did feel that it wasnt as clean as it could have been when we arrived. However the harbour town of Staithes is absolutely beautiful and the people are so friendly. The perfect getaway for you and your dog with so many walks on the doorstep.

Overall we had an absolutely fantastic stay which suited us to the ground.
Overall we had an absolutely fantastic stay which suited us to the ground.
Location was uphill at the end of a narrow harbour lane, which requires pretty good driving skills. It also meant barely any traffic passed the house, apart from foot traffic as it connected to the coastal walk. You could sit out the front with your coffee and have the friendliest locals, walkers and tourists pass by. We also didn’t touch the car for a couple of days.
The house is a gorgeous and sweet, not too big but fully equipped and had everything we needed.
Beds were comfy, but a note to the owners, the attic room could do with a blind on the dormer window. That said, absolutely beautiful views from the loft and double bedroom.
We would definitely come back!

We had a lovely break away at felicity house, comfortable and very charming property that was well equipped with everything you need.
Car parking is limited in the area but this property has its own car park right next to the house so super easy.
Lovely views, we would return. Only small thing that we thought was missing was a clock.
