Brilliant location.
Brilliant location. In easy walking distance to Runswick Bay and Staithes. Short car ride to Saltwick and Whitby, although the X4 bus to Whitby stops at the end of the road. Hinderwell village has a nice pub and tearoom. The cottage is perfect for 2 and has a lovely front patio which gets the sun all day. The kitchen is well equipped though doesnt have a normal oven, has a combi microwave and only 2 hob rings. We took prepared meals from home and reheated them which was fine. We would definitely return as we had a great week.

The cottage was lovely, we didn’t cook there and we wouldn’t have, I can’t remember if it’s in the description but there’s no oven! It does have one of those micro/grill/oven things but I’ve never used one. We had all other comforts though, bed was super comfy. Cottage was perfectly clean, a few arrival gifts, tea, coffee, milk and delicious biscuits. We didn’t find a local shop but heard on the last night that the butcher has essentials but being out every day meant we could pick up any bits we needed. Local fish and chip shop was the best ever!! Only open 3 evenings a week I think but they’re the best I think we’ve ever had, amazing batter and crinkle cut fresh chips - yummy!!! Bus service was good and we had to contact the vets in Whitby, they were brilliant with our boy. He was seen and sorted within an hour of my phone call. We were out every day but when in the cottage it was peaceful. You will enjoy your stay <3

The cottage was booked as it was the first cottage we have come across that had a decent mattress!,
The cottage was booked as it was the first cottage we have come across that had a decent mattress!, and a good nights sleep is important to us.
The cottage was clean and provided all that we needed however I felt that the kitchen was poorly designed and did not like the combination microwave as an only means of cooking and it was not easy to use. For this reason I felt that the cottage was overpriced.
