Pet Friendly Lake Front Getaway On Lake Champlain, Plattsburgh NY

Situated on the shores of Lake Champlain directly across from historic Crab Island, of the Battle of Plattsburgh fame, your vacation getaway is planted in the perfect place to explore the region. You can't beat the spectacular views of Vermont and the Green Mountains! If fishing is your thing, you've found paradise! The property has a private beach and dock, perfect for fishing and water play. The dock is unable to handle a watercraft for overnight docking due to wind and large waves. Please note that dock installation occurs in late spring and is dependent on water level. Dock removal usually occurs in early September at the discretion of the dock service provider. Public boat access is just down the road at the Peru, NY boat launch. Short term dock rental may also be available at nearby Snug Harbor. A variety of kayaks, boats and bikes are available for rental just miles away. The home is equipped with 3 kayaks and lifejackets for your use. If the mountains are your preference, we are a short drive from Whiteface and the majestic Adirondack Mountains with all that they have to offer. You can hike or bike in the summer and ski in the winter. You can also wander the Olympic village of Lake Placid, just an hours drive into the mountains. The Queen city, Burlington, VT is a ferry ride away. If a visit to Montreal is something you'd like to do, drive a quick hour north and you are there! If you have a SUNY Plattsburgh student, this is the place for you to stay while visitng your Cardinal! We are also just a ferry ride away from UVM and St. Michael's College. The property is a well maintained 4 bedroom, 2 full bath home located in a friendly family neighborhood setting. The home boasts of an enclosed porch facing the lake as well as a deck and steps leading directly to the water and dock for your enjoyment. The home can accommodate up to 8 people. There are three good sized bedrooms facing the lake, each with a queen bed. There is also one large bedroom with one twin bed and one double bed. All bedrooms are located on the second floor. The home features a large fully equipped, eat-in kitchen. In addition, there is a gas grill available for your use on the back patio. There are also a washer and dryer available to you, located in the basement. The living room features a gas fireplace for those cool nights. Our family room is a comfortable spot to relax with a futon and a smart tv. The home also has internet service. There are AC units in each of the bedrooms and in the great room on the main floor. Your pet is welcome but be aware there is no fence and the area does have leash laws. While staying at our property, you will have use of the neighborhood's private beach. This beach has shallow water and a large sandy area to enjoy. Pack your shovels and buckets! Grocery shopping is nearby or if your preference is to be waited upon, there are numerous restaurants near at hand offering a variety of menus and price ranges. You can get here easily by car as the property is just a few miles off interstate 87. Also, you can fly into Plattsburgh International Airport which is a short drive away or Burlington International Airport which is about an hour away. Your vacation to Lake Champlain and the Champlain Valley will give you some of your best memories and they will all begin at this, your "home away from home." Come make your family memories in our little "peace" of heaven! **Please note that while most dates have a two night stay minimum, ALL RESERVATIONS FOR JULY AND AUGUST 2026 HAVE A FIVE NIGHT STAY MINIMUM. Please feel free to inquire with the hosts about shorter stays in the off season. It should also be noted that lawn maintenance will occur on an "as needed" basis and at the discretion of our lawn care providers. Please be courteous if maintenance occurs during your visit.
