Lake house on the New York shores of Lake Champlain
Wake up with breathtaking views of Vermont’s green mountains and lake Champlain. The second floor is quite private from the first and provides a bit of privacy from the first. This allows some to go to bed early and others to sleep in. The bathroom on the second floor was remodeled in 2021, using native stone in the shower.
The second floor bunk room is excellent for a family with young kids. The queen sized bunk bed allows the kids to sleep on the top twin and the adults to have the space of a queen.
The first floor is an open floor plan with beautiful views of the lake. The kitchen is placed so that noise from cooking should difficult to hear in the bedrooms.
The dining room table sits in front of a large window and is a great place to eat, plan the day, play games, or just unwind.
The fireplace is not necessary for heating the house but often provides just the right ambiance.
The stairs to the lake are steep, but a luxurious deck awaits half way down with a grill seating and two hammocks. The deck also provides a great vantage point to watch your kids play on the dock or shore.
We enjoy combing the beach for drift wood and making camp fires. The beach is a pebble beach that becomes sand at the end of the dock.
This lake house is perfect for family and friends.

We had a wonderful time in this house right on the lake. We loved the beach and the great boating and swimming dock. We borrowed kayaks and had some magical trips across Corlear Bay. We saw eagles and the views from the house and the water are spectacular!! Phil, our host, was very responsive when we asked any questions. The house is older and needs some things done, but, if you can handle a stiff patio door and a lttle peeling paint, it is a great family vacation place. We cooked full meals in the well stocked, modern kitchen.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
While the location, views and access to the lake were absolutely gorgeous, we were sadly disappointed with the state of the property upon arrival. It was unclear in the listing that this was a fresh listing, and the advertised pictures of the house did not reflect the current state of the property. It was clear that the property had not been properly prepared for visitors. The lack of cleanliness caused my family and I to feel uncomfortably dirty. The refrigerator was completely full of food, leaving no room for my family and I to store the provisions we brought with us for our trip. There was no available air conditioning and it was clear that a dog frequents the property contributing to the lack of cleanliness. The host did arrive at the property to check in, we let him know how we felt and they took immediate action. They did notify us that this was their first time hosting and we were their first guests. We gave our feedback, but it would have been beneficial if we knew what we were walking in to beforehand.
