For the more adventurous, several zip lines are within 90 minutes and various restaurants are available on the NY side of Lake Champlain which can be crossed with your boat or by ferry. Bikes (4), kayaks (2), and paddle board are available for use. We had a great time at the Blue Camp. The screened in porch was the highlight. Wonderful breeze off the lake. Very peaceful setting. Central to Colchester, Burlington, and not too far from Stowe.
As advertised. Right on the water. Had a fun and relaxing experience. Everything you need for a week of calm and relaxation was there. Well stocked with pots and pans and other utensils and glassware. Bring your own linens if you want to feel more comfortable. Bikes, dual kayaks and paddleboard as advertised and in good shape. It might feel a bit tight for six people with just a single bathroom. Walk to the water but this time of year, there were tons of geese and geese poop galore. Also note there is on demand heating and so you might run out of hot water in minutes, but wait a minute and the hot water comes back again in a minute. But loved the camp style like experience and the town and shoet ride to Burlington, bike path, and more, make this a wonderful place to spend the week.
We loved this little camp, perfect spot on the lake and very nostalgic feeling. It has all of the necessary items and many comforts as well. It was a chilly weekend but the heating stove kept us toasty! Very easy to use with a remote. If we come when the weather is better we’d definitely use the kayaks and bikes. Loved our stay at Blue Camp!!!
The listing was accurate, pics and all. It wasn't spotless, which we kinda figured since it relies on other guests and is an older place. The weather sucked, but we made the best of it! Our last day was amazing though, and we loved the porch. Best part? We got to sit out there even though it rained.
The property was amazing and the decor made it feel very homey. Its location is in proximity to a lot businesses and recreational chances. Thank you for an amazing stay!!
Cozy & rustic lake house with amazing views & access to the lake! Great location to enjoy downtown Burlington, accessing great hiking trails & Stowe, VT within an hour. Host super responsive& helpful. We can’t wait to come back!
We had a great stay in the blue house. John was a great host and the location was perfect. Even when we had rain sitting on the screened in deck was so relaxing. Def will come back and recommend to anyone looking!
Great spot, great weather, great rental, great value. Close to everything. Would stay here again.

Fabulous Porch View @ Blue Camp
We enjoyed Blue Camp's porch view of Mallets Bay, especially the sunrise views and watching the boats on the bay. It's in a quiet neighborhood and is well located for easy drives to the islands or mountains for hiking or Burlington for dining and shopping.
This cabin was truly the perfect getaway. The decor is lovely, the rooms are quaint, and the area is gorgeous. The biggest highlight is the porch facing the lake with the rocking chairs - you want to spend all day there. Highly recommend a stay here.
Great place, felt like living in an episode of the Waltons.
A bit dusty and cobwebby in the best way.
It would be nice if the bedroom walls were extended to the roof.
The blue cabin was a wonderful little retreat nestled right on Lake Champlain. The views were spectacular, the cabin was spotless and also has every amenity you could possibly think of, and then some! Communication with the renter was quick and easy and seamless. A total 10/10 experience. I would totally recommend this place!
Sometimes these places sound too good to be true. Not the case here, perfect place for a quiet getaway, explore the beautiful Burlington area, including the lake. You can hike, bike, kayak or just chill in the serenity of the amazing screen porch. Everything you need is right there. The hosts do a wonderful job with the place. Thank you for a great stay.
The Blue Camp cottage was very cosy and comfortable. Best of all is the spectacular view of Malletts Bay and the mountains!
John was a great host and had all we needed to make our stay enjoyable!
I can’t say better things about my stay at the Blue Camp. My mom and I had a mother daughter trip here in late September. it’s absolutely picturesque and so so cozy. John is a wonderful human and host. There is an uncles number of things to do, and I really enjoyed riding the bikes on the property to the nearby islands. You will have the coziest beast time here. Already looking forward to coming back in the summer with friends and getting in the lake.
What a cool old cabin! John was always responsive leading up to our stay and very kindly had the heater on for us since it was pretty cold and we arrived a few hours later than we planned due to a storm. Hope to come back again and for a longer stay to spend more time in the area and on the lake!
This was a family trip which was unfortunately cut short. The location was wonderful. Close to things, right on the lake and very quiet. The house is very cute with a great porch overlooking the yard and lake.
Very quaint with room for children to
Play and run. Had over family for the evening and a grandchild or two to play during the day. Tiny kitchen but adequate for meal prep as long as you don’t get too fancy. Quite a few dust bunnies but not really worrisome unclean. Hope to stay again. Would be lovely in winter, too if winterized .
The house is a classic older lakehouse. The location is great - in a quiet area but accessible to Burlington with a short easy drive. There is no dock or outdoor patio but there is a lovely front lawn going down to the lake where you can put out lawn furniture if you want to sit out by the lake. The front screened porch is large and the view is beautiful. It could use a few upgrades to the mattresses and furniture but overall for the money it is a wonderful place for a quiet getaway with access to natural beauty and proximity to Burlington for shopping and restaurants. We would definitely recommend this rental.
Our family had a fabulous time at the cottage. We were celebrating our sons 2023 UVM graduation. We enjoyed the convenience of the Lakehouse, being outside of the busy city of Burlington. It was a great transition from college to summer time.
We loved John’s cabin. Well equipped with everything we could need plus so much more. The location on the bay was perfect and our dogs loved the property. John was very thoughtful and prepared the rental for our arrival; when we arrived the fire was going the lights were on and music was playing. Our only regret was that we didn’t make it to the basement until the last day; don’t miss out on the fun like we did.
Awesome. It should be noted that the bedrooms do not have ceilings so there is not sound privacy between the bedrooms. Otherwise it is a charming old fashioned lake-house with everything you need. Loved it. Beautiful view and a great porch!
