Experience - The Area... Set right in the heart of the picturesque coastal village of St Mawes with superb panoramic sea views is Captains Cottage. Comfortable, well appointed and equipped accommodation set over three floors with easy access to a good selection of pubs and restaurants plus local shops all within a few minutes walk. St Mawes also has a selection of small south facing beaches and a popular sailing club with temporary membership available. The world renowned Hotel Tresanton is literally yards away with the fabulous restaurant open to non residents (advance booking recommended). A regular passenger ferry service operates to Falmouth, and another crosses the Percuil River to St Anthony and runs in the summer months. The 15th Century St Mawes Castle standing in a sub tropical garden is close at hand and there are also lovely waterside paths following the banks of the estuary which eventually reach the picturesque church at St Just in Roseland. Stay - The Accommodation... To the front of Captains Cottage is a small southerly facing terrace with bench and table...a perfect spot for morning coffee and taking in the glorious view. Entered from the front door via the wooden floored hallway you will find the living and dining room off to your left with kitchen and access to the courtyard and rear garden to the back. Needless to say the panoramic views from the comfortable living room are superb! The suitably equipped kitchen provides ample storage and set down space with the usual array of appliances provided for your convenience. The back kitchen door leads out into a small courtyard where you will find the 'outhouse' which accommodates the laundry equipment and handy W.C. From the rear courtyard, a flight of 12 Cornish granite steps take you up to the pretty hillside garden with small lawn, 6 steps continue up to a terrace, and a further 10 steps lead up to railed decking area with garden furniture and more terrific views. Back inside and up the carpeted stairs to the bedrooms and bathrooms. On the first floor you will find the smart family bathroom W.C. with over bath shower and additional separate shower room W.C. The twin bedroom is located at the back of the property with the single bedroom and double bedroom at the front with more amazing views. All first floor bedrooms are carpeted with ample hanging and drawer space provided. Accessed through a further door off the landing is an enclosed wooden twist and turn staircase (with hand rails) which leads up to the top floor where the generously proportioned master bedroom with kingsize bed, shower ensuite W.C. and wall mounted television can be found. Be warned however, that views from this bedroom just get better and better! Captains Cottage is efficiently heated by modern electric radiators with supplementary heating (if required) from the open fire in the living room. Parking is available using village car parks during the season with single yellow line parking close by out of season. Single yellow line parking is subject to availability and should only be used during the permitted advertised times only. Don't forget... - This property welcomes two dogs of any size.
