These two pretty stone cottages with pool, offered together, with private use of facilities are located on a high meadow overlooking the beautiful garfagnana valley and the apuan alps, about 2km from the mediaeval village of s. Romano.
The grounds are vast, fully fenced and flat, ideal for children to play, for your morning jog and for your dog... A rarity in the Garfagnana

The cottages have retained original features giving a real country feel to your stay!

There are beamed ceilings in most rooms, traditional cotto flooring, chestnut windows, and some exposed stone internal walls.

This combined with modern comforts such as fully equipped kitchens including dishwashers, DVD players, WIFI and a pool.

Each cottage has its own private shaded outdoor dining facilities including BBQ but the site is also ideal for two families to hire together, giving a sense of privacy but also plenty of space to be together.

Cottage A:
3 bedrooms - 1 double and two twins,2 shower rooms, living room with comfy seating, fireplace, TV, DVD and WIFI.
The kitchen is well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
Cottage B:
3 bedrooms - 1 double and two twins, 2 shower rooms, living room with comfy seating, fireplace, TV, DVD and WIFI.

Outside there is a huge shared garden with plenty of flat space, wonderful views and a private pool (10m x 5m ).

A little about location:
Please note that automated distance information can be misleading in rural areas. Although some places may appear close “as the crow flies,” walking routes are often impractical.

The property is situated 2 km from the village of San Romano, which has a bar, and small supermarket. Further afield is the town of Castelnuovo which is a 15 minute drive, and has all facilities – bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, famous Thursday morning market.
The house is also just a couple of kms from Camporgiano which has a couple of bars, some restaurants, supermarket, castle, station etc.
There is also a lovely riverside restaurant within walking distance too!
There are further large villages closer than town such as Piazza Al Serchio which has supermakets, restaurants, and a main line train station for when one wishes to explore without the car.
The mediaeval town of Barga is just 30 minutes away. Pisa is an hour and 30 min drive, Florence 2 hrs, and the breathtaking medieaval walled city of Lucca just under an hours drive.
All in all a perfect mix of rural retreat, with a mere 10-minute drive taking you up into the mountains, and the Natural Park of Orecchiella for wonderful walking, unusual wildlife and rare fauna; bocce and cheese throwing, but also a good base for exploring the towns of the area.
