About this property

Best Sea Views, Sun-Filled Villa on 1100m2 plot. Large Pool & Great Sun Terraces

The property has a legal licence to operate as a holiday let, this is known as a LICENCIA VIVIENDA VACACIONAL (see details for the number).

1100 m2 private plot at the end of a cul-de-sac, 5 bedroomed, detached, extremely spacious, air-conditioned, private, safe and quiet villa which offers beautiful far-reaching views of the dramatic landscape of Fuerteventura along with stunning views of the wider Atlantic Ocean and the La Bocayna or La Bocaina (Spanish: Estrecho de la Bocaina) Strait which separates Lanzarote from Fuerteventura.
Four of the five double bedrooms have their own south-facing terrace and seating areas with beautiful sea views. The master suite has its own very personal terrace and seating area with >180 degrees sea views.
Three of the five double bedrooms are en-suite, all with their own walk-in showers.
The large master en-suite also has a big corner bath as well as a walk-in shower.
There is another bathroom with wash-basin, toilet and walk-in shower on the lounge level of the Villa giving four bathrooms in total so there should be no queues.....

Swimming Pool – Larger than it looks on the photos….
The large, heated private swimming pool is set within a spacious South-facing elevated terrace that has been extended around the far side of the pool (south side) to provide an extra-large outdoor living space which enjoys the sunshine all day long, all year round. The infinity-style, kidney-shaped pool holds approximately 80,000 litres of water and measures around 10m x 5m at the longest/widest points. It is 1.3m at the shallow end and 1.65m at the deep end (4'3" shallow and 5'5" deep).
The pool is a saltwater type which is easier on the skin than traditional Chlorine pools. Salt water chlorine is less concentrated and doesn’t dry or irritate the skin as much.
12 people can easily sunbathe on the main terrace and around the pool with plenty of room to spare and from here you can watch the sun come up in the morning and see it sink into the Atlantic Ocean in the evening creating beautiful and dramatic sunsets.

There is a nice covered "Chill-out" area with a large, very comfortable outdoor corner-sofa and table where you can avoid the sun on hot days. This area and the outdoor dining area is also covered by Wifi.
There is a barbecue area with a brick-built BBQ, sink and serving area.
Next to the BBQ is a further covered area with a beautiful, very big marble table with cushioned seating that easily seats twelve. It's perfect for enjoying meals, drinks and watching the sun go down while the islands light up at night. You can occasionally watch large, beautifully lit Cruise Ships sail through the strait between Lanzarote & Fuerteventura on their way to/from other Canary Islands or the Caribbean and other sunny destinations.

ARRIVING & FUTHER DETAILS
On arrival, drive up alongside the villa and enter on the elevated middle floor into a bright, modern, welcoming open lounge with comfy leather sofas, flat screen television and two sets of double doors that open out onto the main terrace with views towards the islands & the lighthouse at the Southern tip of Lanzarote.
Turning right from the lounge takes you into a hallway that leads you to a large double bedroom with en-suite walk-in shower, king-sized bed and double doors that open out onto the the south facing terrace with sea views. It’s lovely to lie on the bed with a book, with the doors open and fresh sea air coming in.
Off the same hallway is a comfortable, bright twin bedroom with double doors that open onto the main terrace and sea views. Opposite the twin bedroom is a toilet and walk-in shower room.

Turning left from the lounge takes you into the modern and bright, well-equipped kitchen with all the appliances you would expect (fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven, combination microwave oven) and a table that will seat eight.
The photo shows the table set for 6 but there are two further matching wooden chairs not in the picture.
There is a covered solana off the kitchen which is home to the washing machine, child's high chair, additional kitchen aids, cool box, cool picnic back pack etc. The kitchen leads directly onto the pool terrace and therefore provides simply wonderful views when preparing food in the kitchen!

Go down the stairs from the lounge to the ground floor and turn right, this will take you into a self contained apartment with its own lounge and kitchen area and uncovered solana which is useful for drying clothes or storing bicycles & sports equipment etc.
The ground floor apartment lounge has double doors which open out onto the apartment's own shaded patio area and the front gardens. From here there are nice sea views out towards the lighthouse and its rocky coastline.
Off the lounge is a double bedroom with twin beds (can be separate or put together) and an en-suite walk-in shower room. Double doors also open out onto the front patio & gardens.
It's perfect for privacy from the rest of the villa, we use it for the Grandparents, or to hide the teenagers! There is a flat screen television though this is not currently connected to the main television (Mar 2022), so bring your Fire Stick or use the second Xbox to connect to Internet TV such as Netflix.

Go left at the bottom of the stairs on the ground floor and you will come to a very big twin bedroom, this is the only room without a sea view, but it does have double doors leading out to a small uncovered solana and these can be opened to let a nice breeze into the room. The twin beds also have slide out mattresses underneath suitable for 2 more children if necessary. There is a flat screen television though this is not connected to the main television (Mar 2022), so bring your Fire Stick or use the second Xbox to connect to internet TV.

The pool table is on the ground floor under a covered area in front of the double garage. The pool balls, pool cues, chalk, brush & leveller are in the cupboard by the main wooden entrance door in the lounge.

Go up the stairs from the lounge towards the Master Suite and turn left to get to another large sunbathing terrace with two sun beds and more far-reaching sea views. Warning! it gets hot up there as there is no shade unless you use your parasol!

Master Suite:
Turn back to the bedroom and enjoy sleeping on the super-king-size zip and link bed, with sea views from the bed and double doors onto your own personal terrace with table and chairs. From here you get more than 180 degrees of fantastic, unbroken sea views. You can see from the beaches of Papagayo in the East, right across the island of Fuerteventura and out in the Atlantic Ocean to the West.
The positioning & orientation of the Villa ensures that you'll be able to enjoy the beautiful sunsets and watch the sun disappear into the sea each evening no matter what time of year you visit.
Off the Master bedroom is a lovely, spacious grey marbled en-suite with corner bath, large mirror, walk-in shower & built-in cupboards.
You will not be short of space in this villa.

Air conditioning is available throughout the villa via the coin operation box.

Entertainment, the Internet & Wifi
The SMART TV has a full Sky package (films, sports etc), plus NETFLIX, Amazon etc and an online library of additional films, box sets and games. In addition there are Xbox Game Consoles provided for gamers.
The Internet connection is fast, stable and is suitable for most purposes with around 80Mbps download and 40Mbps upload speeds as of March 2022 (on Wifi).
There are Wifi Extenders on all floors and in the Main Lounge so you should be able to get a connection wherever you are.

Getting Around:
Either hop on the circular Playa Blanca bus at the stop at the bottom of the road outside The Rubicon Palace Hotel, or grab a taxi at the taxi rank, the taxis are extremely cost efficient and within a 2 to 3 minute walk from the Villa.
There is also an new Electric Scooter station next to the taxi rank. The scooter stations are now quite common around Playa Blanca and are an ideal way to get around for the more adventurous.
The nearest beach is the Natura Beach, a small cove type beach a 10 minute walk or so from the villa for the average person. There is a nice selection of bars and restaurants and access to the coastal path that runs for several miles along the entire south coast of the island and is great for runners & walkers alike.
There is the fabulous Greek restaurant called Sebastyan’s, and an amazing Argentinian restaurant serving the best steaks. Try the Italian if you fancy pizza and pasta or enjoy Paella at the Natura Beach Bar.
If you're not hungry, simply chill out at the Marea Terraza Lounge cocktail bar and enjoy a drink or two. All of the restaurants and bars sited along the coastal path have amazing sea views over to Fuerteventura and beyond.

Beautiful House-Great Location
Our family loved the house. There is so much room to spread out and having numerous bathrooms was very convenient. We had 3 flights from our home location and were exhausted when we got here. What a pleasant surprise to have enough food and drink awaiting us so there was no need to go grocery shopping until the next day. The house was clean, well decorated and comfortable. We ate several meals outside and used the Canarian grill. The heated saltwater pool was great and regularly maintained. The view from the very large patio/pool was beautiful with Fuerventura in the distance. Jo, our host, was a pleasure to deal with. She is very friendly and quick to respond to any questions. The manual that explains how things work in the house was quite helpful. This is a very well managed property which I recommend without hesitation. Thank you so much Jo (and David)

Fantastic villa!
If you're looking for a quiet, private villa that allows you to truly relax and enjoy the year round sun then I can honestly say Ocean View 10 is perfect and one of the nicest villa's I've ever stayed in. We were a party of 6 adults and 6 children ranging from 15 to 2 years old. The villa is spacious, spotlessly clean, very well appointed and has everything you need. The pool area has plenty of room with ample sunbeds, fantastic views of the sea and all day sun! Even though the daily temperatures averaged 25 when we were there the pool heating meant comfortable swimming all day. The tranquility of the villa location means you can truly relax but with a handful of excellent restaurants and bars only 15 minutes walk across the road. The busier town is only a 10 minute taxi ride away or a nice beach path walk that takes less than 60 minutes. Jo the owner was also massively helpful with advice leading up to our stay and provided quick correspondence on any questions.

Beautiful views!
Stayed the last week of Sept'23, weather was just perfect! Be mindful that Lanzarote is a bit windy so at night you may need a jacket, however it is perfect when you're lying by the pool! The pool itself was beautiful and because it's not chlorine it's so much better on your skin and hair! There's loads of pool toys in a box next to the outside shower (perfect for kids or kid like adults!) Outside seating area is lush! You get views of the sea and the mountains behind. We climbed the smaller mountain behind (took about 15mins) and the views were stunning! The Villa itself suited us for the week. We had a member of the family unfortunately break one of the beds, but Jo and David were super helpful and we reimbursed them as it was our fault not a fault of their property! Only downside was we had to pay for Aircon, however it clearly states it before you book and that's my error on not reading properly! It also help us be mindful of how much we have it on, so it does kind of make sense! Aircon uses a LOT of electric so I can see why Jo and David have a coin box. The restaurants near were lovely. We ate in the Italian & Greek restaurant, Greek was defo our fave! We had a few excursions booked which picked us up from the hotel 5 mins walk from the villa. The restaurants are about 10 mins walk, you can walk down the gravel path, it's pretty flat. Taxis are pretty easy to get and you can request them to the villa. I'm running out of room to write now haha! Thank you for having us!

About the host

Host profile image
Hi,
We are David & Joanne, owners of Villa Ocean View, Playa Blanca.
We have owned Ocean View for over six years now and love spending time there when not working in the UK, we especially enjoy the sunshine, peace and quiet.
We often use the Villa for family get-togethers and for meeting up with friends.
The villa has been successfully rented out since we bought it but, we try to make use of it ourselves as often as we can.
When we're not using the Villa we really enjoy having people to stay and love trying to make their holidays as enjoyable as possible with the help and support of our agents and friends from around Playa Blanca.
The island is great for walking, cycling, sunbathing, beaches and water sports of course and we enjoy all these activities when we get the time.
We love the climate in the Canary Islands & the 300+ days of sunshine per year. With average daytime temps of around 20 to 25 in mid-winter, it's a real paradise for us all year round.

We hope you choose to stay at Villa Ocean View, if you have any questions just send us a message.... Thank you

Why they chose this property

This is the type of property that you really cannot appreciate until you walk into the lounge & out onto the large South-facing terraces, pool area & verandas. This is most likely where you would spend most of your time when at the Villa. It has a very large, private, extended terrace and a lovely large saltwater swimming pool which was fully refurbished in 2019. (Please see our note about saltwater pools and how they're much kinder than Chlorinated pools which use chemicals).
From the Villa the beautiful views across the 10-mile stretch of sea (La Bocayna Strait) to Fuerteventura and the wider Atlantic Ocean are wonderful.
The sun shines on the terrace from morning until night all year round. In the evening you can watch the islands light up as the sun sets .
Early evening is usually when the cruise ships depart for other Canary islands and the Caribbean / South America and watching them all lit up and sailing silently through the Bocayna strait between Lanzarote & Fuerteventura and then off into the Atlantic Ocean just adds to the lovely summery, holiday feeling.
The Villa is in a quiet, exclusive area and at the end of a cul-de-sac, up & away from the road between Playa Blanca and Faro Park. Lanzarote is not a crowded island by any means so you should enjoy a peaceful, relaxing stay. The walk from the road/bus stop/taxi rank to the Villa takes you up a 100m slope and then you're on the level of the Villa which is then a minute's walk away so it's not too taxing.
As of 2021 there is now an electric scooter station next to the Taxi rank / Bus Stop. You can hire one using a credit card and mobile phone and just park it up anywhere in Playa Blanca when you've finished.
If you need anything during your stay our first-class Villa management team would be on call to help you out - any time of day.
We hope you have a great time on the wonderful island of Lanzarote wherever you stay.

What makes this property unique

Views/Space/Privacy/Peacefulness/South-facing open pool terrace, covered dining area and covered chill-out area which get the sunshine all day every day all year round.
Villa Ocean View is on the lower slope of Montana Roja so this provides the elevation for the wonderful vistas. However, the villa is not so elevated that it makes walking difficult, it's only a couple of minutes walk up & down a gentle slope to the bus stop & taxi rank.
The views from the house, terraces, pool and chill-out area over to Fuerteventura are really beautiful.
The hills and distant volcanoes change colour throughout the day and into the evening adding to the beauty of the wonderful sunsets that the island is well known for.
You can sit & watch the inter-island ferries coming and going in the strait between Lanzarote & Fuerteventura as well as the various yachts, fishing boats and, at night, the Squid fishing boats with the lights that they use to attract Squid.

A word about Saltwater swimming pools as we are often asked:
Saltwater swimming pools are the best option for people who want to enjoy a fun day of swimming with less skin and eye irritation. These pools produce water that feels softer to the touch. Contrary to popular belief, saltwater pools do contain chlorine, but the levels of it are much lower than in a Chlorine pool and the way it’s introduced into the water is different. Instead of using chlorine tablets or sticks; salt is added directly to the water and a salt chlorine generator (also known as a saltwater chlorinator) converts the salt into chlorine leaving the pool clean, fresh and healthy.
