We love having guests like you who appreciate our unique position and fabulous views. Thank you for leaving the place impeccable. We look forward to your next visit.
The whole experience was wonderful. The host was so kind and excellent with communication. The property sits in lovely grounds, so peaceful and full of nature. The location is perfect as a base for Devon's coastal attractions. We loved our stay.
Johhny and Rosalind were very friendly and welcoming hosts. The cottage is very appealing, and set in a stunning location. Loved the hydrangea bordered walk down to the pond, and the double ended bath!
Set in beautiful surrounding, this little haven affords the opportunity to completely relax and take in nature and local wildlife. Due to the location, the only noise is the wind blowing through the nearby treetops and the various birdsong.
The property includes all the essentials to make the perfect getaway and the hosts are genuinely lovely people.
I would not hesitate to recommend this property and look forward to renting there again.

A delightful couple who enthused about our place, looked after it immaculately and were first class at communication. We look forward to seeing them here again
Gezellig en comfortabel huisje op schitterend estate
Dagelijks zagen we allerlei landhuizen en pittoreske stadjes in Devon. We kwamen tijd tekort!
Internet gut, Einkaufs-/Gastronomiemöglichkeiten z.B. in Kingsbridge (wenige km) 👍, Wandern/Biken/Joggen sehr gut…😊
Very secluded cottage in beautiful grounds. Friendly owners have property in same grounds. Cottage is comfortable with small kitchen providing good range of equipment and free wifi.
The accommodation was very good. Rosalind and Johnnie were very welcoming and helpful. There was always running water which is a massive plus. The location is lovely with large grounds to explore and it is very picturesque.
There was no telephone signal (sometimes a good thing) and some devices could only connect intermittently but did not cause us a big issue as we were on holiday but could be if you needed to work remotely.
There is no central heating and instead a portable oil heater which is absolutely fine for the warmer months.
Overall a very pleasant stay.
As it was July we very much enjoyed the two small pieces of garden in which we could sit, the extensive grounds- including a roaming peacock and the chance to enjoy a concert in the main house. A warmly welcoming hostess and a very comfortable bed were much appreciated

Beautiful location, lovely cottage
After a lovely welcome and a useful introduction to the cottage and grounds, we settled in quickly and knew that although of course we could enjoy the best of the South Hams area from this location, we would very much enjoy the tranquillity and location of the cottage. The woodland, pond and meadow are perfect for a stroll. We walked down into Kingsbridge from the property as well.
The bed was comfy, lovely view out onto woodland (and the peacock). We were surprised when our teenage daughter decided she and her boyfriend would after all join us early in the holiday, but with the sofa bed and dividing curtain this wasn't a problem.
Everything we could have needed was there, couldn't fault anything and we would highly recommend this as an ideally situated base to explore the area.
Don't miss Rockfish fish and chips in Dartmouth accompanied by a drink from the pub next door whilst crabbing on Bayard's Cove. The Maha Bharat in Kingsbridge is one of the best curry houses outside of Birmingham. But the beaches in the area are superb. South Milton is our favourite sandy beach, excellent for rock pooling and kayaking too.
Thank you Rosalind and Johnny for a lovely stay.

About the host
Hosted by Rosalind Spears
Johnny was born and brought up in Cape Town where his father was the famous painter Frank Spears. www.frankspearsthepainter.com. Rosalind was born in London. They love the area so much they decided to retire here and have spent the last twenty five years making their home and garden beautiful.
Why they chose this property
We were so taken by the house and the area we decided to retire here - on the spur of the moment! We have loved it ever since. Why - for its beauty, peace and outstanding views.
What makes this property unique
We have no near neighbours - apart from the sheep. Our two holiday cottages are full of original paintings and interesting books and are real one-offs.
