Granite Pier, with its unparalleled ocean views, is a traditional Cape Ann home with an unusual history. Built in the mid to late 1800’s, it was part of the Rockport Granite Company housing workmen who mined the nearby quarries. Blending traditional craftsmanship with modern amenities, this home is quintessential New England with ocean views from its multiple decks, from the master bedroom and from the sun room. Multiple skylights and large windows let natural light flood in. Granite Pier can be rented in conjunction with sister cottage Granite Cottage (next door) for larger groups.

Explore nearby Gull Cove, which is less than a five-minute walk from the home or travel to the end of the actual Granite Pier (for which the house is named), which affords 270-degree views of the great Atlantic and the Rockport coastline. Go there early in the morning to experience the sunrise over the water. There is a boat launch at the pier just 120 yards from the house, where you can bring your kayaks or stand up paddle boards and explore the area by water. (Kayaks and SUPs can be rented through Atlantic Vacation Homes).

Experience swimming in a fresh water quarry known as Little Parker Pit just up the road a piece (400 yards) and see how refreshing a dip in the quarry is on a hot summer day. Like hikes or running in the woods, then leave the house, walk under the Keystone Bridge made from Rockport granite and enter into the beautiful Dogtown wilderness. Have a boat? You'll find it easy to manage a trailer. Front Beach and Back Beach are also close by.

Kitchen: Includes corian countertops and a breakfast bar with chairs for 4. The ornamental fireplace adds to the historic feel of the home.

Dining Room: The formal dining room has bay windows that let in plenty of light.

Living Room: Includes a large flat screen smart TV, a large picture window and access to the sun porch and deck.

Sun Room: A 3-season porch with ocean views that can be heated on cooler days or nights.

Bedroom 1: This room includes 2 single beds and a flat-screen TV.

Bathroom 1: Full bathroom with shower.

SECOND FLOOR

Bedroom 2: Master bedroom with a King bed, flat screen TV and AC unit.

Bedroom 3: Queen bed with flat screen TV and AC unit.

Alcove: Daybed with trundle bed and ceiling fan.

Full Bath: Exceptional bathroom with jetted tub, separate shower, and tiled floor.

COVID added unique challenges and AVH could not have been more flexible or responsive. This property is ideally situated with a water view, excellent kitchen, great multi-level layout, and walking distance to town and quarries. Shout out to Jonathan for his work with us. Highly recommend the property and AVH.

Not in the center of town but only a 15-20 minute walk to the small beaches in town along with all the shops, galleries and restaurants. Great view of the water. The house is as described and very nice. We had a couple of minor issues and the management company was very responsive. Overall, we recommend visiting the area and staying at Granite Pier.

We love the location and the home is lovely with enough room to share with several friends and family. Everything was clean and the staff was responsive. Our coffee maker was replaced quickly once we reported a problem with it, and an effort was made to resolve the wi-fi problem. There were several maintenance issues which detracted from our full enjoyment of the vacation.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We decided on a last minute quick trip with our children. Due to COVID the check in is at 4:00 and check out a 9:00. Unfortunately at 4:00, our house was still not ready. Once we were allowed to enter, the home was very clean. The home and views are amazing. I recommend some new window units and additional ones downstairs. The furniture smelled moldy, but after the air started circulating it was better. For a last minute rental, it was very enjoyable.

Getting away to the coast without having to leave the Commonwealth was just what we needed. Everything was very comfortable. Especially loved being able to eat on the shaded outdoor deck/patio.
