Directions to 71 Micklegate
The best way into York for Micklegate is to stay on the A64 from the A1, and follow the signs for York Race Course, which is signposted off the A64 as York A1036. This will take you straight into York past the Race Course (which will be on your right), keep going until you see the city walls in front of you, the gate you see at the junction is Micklegate Bar (the gateways are called bars Viking word for gate) go straight through and about 150m on your right you will see Trinity Lane, and just after this is our office and #71 Micklegate.
PARKING
There is no parking with the apartments on Micklegate, you can park outside on a meter which is 40p for ½ hr, which will be ok for dropping any luggage off, but we would recommend using either the Nunnery Lane carpark (just outside the walls and to the right of Micklegate Bar as you look at it driving into the city), or the long stay carpark at the train station, which is just the other side of this, both of them a just few minutes walk away from the apartment.
KEYBOX
If our office is open you will be able to check in with us, if not, your keys will be in the keybox at the back of the building. Walk down Trinity Lane, and about 20m on your left is a set of wooden double gates with a pedestrian gate on the left hand side. Enter the code 2058z and go through this gate, through the courtyard around to the left and you will see three keyboxes next to the back door, with the apartment numbers marked.
KEY INSTRUCTIONS
Your key will open both the front and back doors of the house and the apartment door, which is at the end of the entrance hall towards the front of the building on your left hand side.
Please ensure you keep the back gate closed and the front and back doors of the main house locked.

House and property were beautiful. Luxurious kitchen. Great location. There is no AC, although it won't generally be a problem for anyone who isn't staying there in the midst of a heatwave. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location in York. Super nice apartment. Highly recommended
The location of this property is perfect for exploring York. The property is spacious and is perfect for a family. It has two nice bathrooms and a large kitchen with basic supplies. Coffee and tea were provided. The check in process was simple. The hosts were responsive. As noted by other reviews, there are quite a few narrow stairs throughout the property.
Quaint flat conversion split over three levels, excellently presented with character and charm. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issue due to tight staircases, otherwise cannot fault this place.
Great location, recommend Nunnery car park.Overall everything you need for a get away. Only suggestion would take a radio for use in kitchen.

The property was spacious, modern and very clean whilst keeping its period features.
We had a couple of little issues but these were dealt with very promptly and efficiently by the host.
Excellent location within walking distance of all the local sights.
Would definitely return
We had a great stay in York for half term. The apartment was so central, everything was in walking distance. Check In and Check Out was easy. Lovely apartment but could do with a deep clean and a paint touch up as the walls were very marked. However, I would absolutely stay here again.
Lovely stay, great location, clean, close to all amenities. Did not realise that it was three floors, lots of stairs and one of our group had a bad leg. Kitchen was fairly well equipped, although we did eat out at dinner. Too many great restaurants in the area.
Excellent location to walk the streets of York. Right balance for my family to have peaceful evenings and playful days. Rooms were exactly as listed and comfortable for the three of us.
Jerry provided recommendations for dinner and breakfast. The choices are many in York and his tips were helpful.
This is a very charming property, with loads of character, located within 10-15 minutes' walk to all attractions within York's medieval walls. There are fantastic restaurants and cafes on the same street. Its kitchen is enormous! The main drawback is that there are several sets of steep and narrow staircases to reach the living room and bedrooms, so maybe not suitable for young children or those with physical limitations. But otherwise, I'd stay here again. (Note: Micklegate Street can get pretty rowdy with party-goers on Saturday nights, but the double-glazing in the windows kept us from being disturbed by it.)
So glad we chose to stay at this gem of a place ! Plenty of room over 3 floors !A well fitted kitchen with table and chairs , upstairs you have 2 lovely doubles with amazing bath/shower rooms ! There is a lovely compact lounge area on the lower floor which I would describe as a basement room with a small courtyard area which could do with a plant pot or two to make it more homely but that’s my personal opinion ! Plenty of cafes bars and restaurants in close vicinity and only 10 minutes across the river to the city centre ! All in all a marvellous stay and would return to this property without any hesitation ! . 2 words of advice is that the 2 bedrooms could do with more space to hang clothes as the front bedroom had little storage ! WiFi could be improved ! Sorry owners but just some constructive criticism ! Overall a lovely spacious apartment !
The property was as described in the listing, clean tidy and modern, a short walk away from central York. Most of the amenities were first class.
Be advised if that if you are over six feet tall, the period beds, make for an interesting night's sleep.
Pre Book the limited parking.
Good stay.
