About this property
Stunning River and Vineyard Views
This is a faithfully converted old village house part of which is 300 years old where animals slept underneath the human occupants and the animal foodstuffs were stored in the ground floor. Today the rooms are converted to a very high standard with all modern conveniences - American fridge, induction cooking, oven, walk in shower off main bedroom and bath/shower in main family bathroom. One can bathe in the river within 300 meters of the house and parking is also within 200 meters. The absolute shining point about this house is that there is a sizable terrace off the kitchen where one can dine overlooking the river and also there is a loggia on the top level to get away form it all and enjoy sundowners from in the evenings.
On entering the property from Rue Place Vieille there is a view out over the river and vineyards from the main door. Beside the salon on this floor is a very well equipped kitchen and from the kitchen one walks out on the the balcony which can seat 8 people for dinner or a BBQ. There is a large dining table which can seat 8 people in the kitchen if weather doesn't permit eating on the balcony. The balcony has a sizable electric awning for shelter from the sun or the rain - most often the sun! There are two bedrooms on the next floor one of which is en suite with a walk in shower. There is a large family bathroom on this floor also with bath, shower, toilet and washing machine. On the next floor are two rooms which can be whatever you want them to be. One has two twin beds in it and the other is laid out as an office but can easily convert into another bedroom. (Please ask for fold out bed) Off of the second bedroom/office is the upper balcony or loggia which is equipped with lounging furniture and drinks tables. Toddlers and small children should not be left unattended here. There is a key in the lock of the sliding door onto the loggia but its at a level that small hands could reach! There is also a hammock up here so it makes a great space to escape to with a book. In fact one can hear no traffic noise or even chatter from the street below up here. Its also really peaceful to go there in the evenings with some candles or to have an aperitif before dinner. There's basic CD player here. Its also a very cool part of the house and makes a great excape from the hot August sun. The boulangerie, cafe/bar, grocery and tabac, post office are all within 3 minutes walk. The tennis courts and canoe center are a 5 minute walk to the other side of the bridge.

Stayed 7 nights in Oct 2021
Response from VrboOwner on 6 November 2021
Unfortunately Cecile did not tell the truth about the number of people she intended to have staying. She said she wanted accommodation for 2 couples and 2 children. She was quoted according but when she came she was Very annoyed because she could see that there were beds for only 6. But we have an office that easily turns into an extra bedroom by putting in two single beds which we have stored.
If Cecile had been honest and transparent in the first place we would have easily accommodated 8 people.
Nonetheless we made a little studio available for 70€ for 3 nights but again Cecile was not honest. She said she wanted it for her brother for 2 nights but in fact she wanted it for 3 nights for him and then for another night for her parents in law. I charged only 15€ for her in laws to cover electricity and water but Cecile refused to pay this also. Cecile obviously had no appreciation of the fact that bed linen and towels had to be laundered at a cost.
I accommodated 8 people at a very reasonable rate and Cecile would not pay.
Her party also broke a lamp gliobe and bulb. She left the money for the broken property but I still have to drive 40kms to replace it and pay an electrician to re-wire it.
Cecile was not an honest person to deal with.
