Wheelchair access. No smoking.. Cunliffe Cottage is a wonderfully bright and extremely spacious ground floor cottage, just 1 mile from the centre of Hathersage in the stunning Hope Valley. Beautifully refurbished in 2020, the cottage can be found at the end of a private drive on the friendly owner’s working farm and with the owners living adjacent. Benefitting from underfloor heating, three bedrooms, two of which are en-suite and a further bathroom, and stunning views over the surrounding countryside, it really does make for a luxury rural break. You’ll also find ample private parking and an enclosed patio with seating area to relax, take stock and simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Hathersage is a large, busy village in the heart of the Peak District National Park, and has associations with both Robin Hood and the Brontës. It is home to a good selection of shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as, quite uniquely, a seasonal outdoor heated swimming pool. Centrally located, the neighbouring village of Bamford is just over 1 mile away, Hope 3 miles and then the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton is just under 5 miles away. The fascinating plague village of Eyam is around a 15 minute drive; Bakewell and Chatsworth House are around 20 minutes away. Hathersage, Bamford and Hope all have their own train stations connecting you to the bright lights of Sheffield and Manchester. An area popular with lovers of the great outdoors, you’ll find ample walking, cycling and climbing available. Stanage and Burbage Edge are both nearby and reward you with superb views of the Dark Peak moorlands. Ultimately whether you’re looking to explore this wonderful part of the Peak District by foot or by car, or simply escape from a hectic life, Cunliffe Cottage really does make a wonderful base. Brilliant cottage, well equipped, cozy, clean, comfy and complimentary welcome pack was much appreciated.We loved that the cottage was decorated for Christmas.Well located for a Peak District holiday with plenty to do, lots of information available in pack and also in advance of arrival.Great enclosed outdoor spaces, and facilities, we hope to get back at another time of the year to fully appreciate them.Fantastic hosts.
