See title. The property was wonderful inside and out! Great setup, plenty to do without ever having to leave. We went sledding on the hills in the fields as soon as we got there. Plenty of room to run the dog and for the kids to explore. The primary suite off of the livingo room was awesome
I rented Virgil’s home to use as a home base to create floral designs for a wedding nearby. Virgil was very accommodating to my needs, as I required an air-conditioned space to keep the flowers in & they provided the perfect space in the basement!
I stayed on the property with 2 colleagues & we found it very accommodating. We brought tables & enjoyed working outside under the porch with a beautiful view of the mountains every day. We found the bedrooms comfortable too.
Communication with Virgil was easy & they were responsive whenever I messaged them.
We did feel the home could have been cleaner prior to our arrival. Though linens + towels all seemed fresh, there was perishable food left out rotting, a plethora of dead flies (40+), & the floors were very dirty (our socks/feet were filthy from walking around inside.) There were also personal items like used hairbrushes + bar soap left out & the freezer + fridge were left filled with food when we arrived. We felt a bit like we had intruded on someone’s daily life in the way these items were left & though it was likely with positive intent, it made us a bit uncomfortable. We did share our concerns about the cleanliness with the owner but they were unaddressed.
Aside from that this house really was a perfect spot for what we needed & we were grateful for the solace that the land there provided, the fun porch to relax on, & the fully equipped kitchen too! Thank you for having us
This was the second time we have stayed there for a nearby family reunion, and we will be back! It's a lovely house on a hill with a great view of the sunset. Nice for a group, with its four double or queen beds. Outdoor grill, firepit and picnic table are a plus.
This is indeed a very large, extremely well equipped, comfortable home with an attentive host in an isolated area surrounded by meadows and forest. The home, the linen the towels, etc. were all very clean. Everyone in our group loved this charming home and we would definitely stay there again.
We had a really had a wonderful stay at this amazing mountain top house near South Ryegate, Vermont. This spot is quite hospitable for multiple families/family members as some of the spacious guest rooms have ensuite bathrooms. A relaxing combination of comfortable furnishings, charming antiques, a nice assortment of games and puzzles, and a well-appointed kitchen paired with surrounding grounds perfect for experienceing the serene beauty of the Vermont/New Hampshire border area. Heartily recommend and look forward to returning one day.
We had a family weekend at Virgil's property. The check-in process couldn't have been easier: Door is open, let yourselves in. The property is located outside of the beaten path and has beautiful views. It's well furnished, comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed (minus a whisk). I'd highly recommend it.
We had a beautiful weekend enjoying the Vermont mountains! The cabin was beautiful, the kitchen was well-stocked, and we had so much space to enjoy. Would definitely recommend!
We had a great experience staying at this charming home. The views were delightful, home well equipped, clean, and private. I would highly recommend it.
We spent a wonderful Christmas week at this lovely home. The house is a perfect blend of cozy and contemporary, with comfortable bedding and towels, a kitchen that allowed us to cook a full holiday meal, and plenty of room for our family of two adults and three college kids to spread out and have our own spaces for reading and relaxing. The property is amazingly quiet and private, yet very convenient to the interstate. We were so excited to find such a perfect vacation spot for our family, and we can't wait to return soon!
If your idea of a nice vacation is serenity and relaxation, this farmhouse is amazing. Watching the sunset from the back porch, with the deer grazing in front of you made for amazing evenings. The owner and caretaker were great to work with. We will be returning.
Their property is beautiful and very inviting to stroll around with our dog. The inside was very comfortable and charming. We would like to return one day.
Sprawling country house located on 65 very private acres. We found the stay tremendously relaxing and enjoyed the many amenities on the property, such as the jacuzzi. One small knock is the lack of water pressure and hot water in the two ensuite bathrooms. This led to long and somewhat chilly showers for me, while my 2 other family members opted to use the bathroom next to the kitchen, where the water pressure was better.
This house is located in a quiet area with pretty views and was clean and well stocked; however, there were several issues we experienced. 1. The hot tub was 82 degrees when we arrived and when we reached out to the owner he said it was broken and needed a part, which was news to us, and we would not be able to use it for the week. We were very disappointed by this because this was a significant reason we chose his property. The cleaning staff informed us to turn on the pumps to see if that would help and then the hot tub reached a comfortable temperature on our fourth day there so we were able to use it for 3 days out of 7. Also, the property owner got aggravated we turned the temperature up after it finally got above 90 on the fourth day. If he does not want guests to turn up the temperature he should have directions on how to use the hot tub posted. He did have directions for the kitchen sink and bathrooms. 2. The water pressure was very low throughout the house making it difficult to wash dishes properly and enjoy a decent shower. 3. There were wet towels left in the washer and sheets in the dryer. The owner called the cleaning staff to take care of this but this was inconvenient we couldn’t use the washer until she came.
Beautiful grounds, thoughtful, kind and helpful hosts.
Very convenient location, but very peaceful. The house was decorated adorably, with everything we could possibly need and more! I hope to come back for many years to come.
Had a great time with our teenagers at Virgil's property. It was quiet and peaceful, and the house had everything we needed. Extremely clean and comfortable with one-of-a-kind construction.
Absolutely everything you would ever need, beautiful home and beautiful property. Dan and Virgil were very helpful, and were quick to answer. The streaming options were a little odd, a lot of things were not signed in, but with all the amenities, and sights to see nearby, the last thing you would be thinking about is television.
We were very pleased with our stay at “Once in a Blue Moon” home! We had rainy weather on and off but this property was very comfortable and well stocked. We were able to totally relax inside. Except for the crazy thunderstorm on our last night!! 4th of July fireworks from above. 😂
Had a wonderful time in a lovely home. Tucked away in Vermont in a secluded setting but not to far from modern conveniences. Would def recommend this place for families wanted to get away from dodge. Thanks for letting us share in you wonderful home.
Our stay at Once in a Blue Moon was incredible! We got a snowy, wintry weekend, and the house was so cozy and so private-our group and our dogs absolutely loved it! It was the recharging time we needed, and we couldn’t have been more impressed!
Very charming and comfortable. The wood burning stove was easy to use and looked and felt great with plenty of wood to burn. The master suite was a plus with a gas stove which gave such a warm, cozy feel. The kitchen was fully equipped and easy and inviting to use. Many hors games and comfortable sitting areas. Hiking outdoors was a plus with our family dog.
