About this property

River View with spacious balcony, WIFI, Private Parking, Lockbox, own entrance

This 2 Storey detached home is located directly by the infamous Brunel railway bridge with views along the River Tamar which has constant activity. Picturesque and ideal base for walking and exercising with pleasant surroundings. Situated on the Gateway to Cornwall to explore sandy beaches & places of natural beauty within easy reach.
Main line rail station and bus stop are nearby plus local taxis service available.
Not only is Brunel Boathouse ideal for holidays and professional stays, it is ideally located for the University, Marjons Graduation ceremonies plus the Naval passing out parades at Raleigh and close by to the Naval Base, Devonport Dockyard and for the events held at the Life Centre.
The waterfront city of Plymouth is set in one of the finest locations in the country, it stands right on the border between Devon and Cornwall overlooking the spectacular waters of Plymouth Sound to the south, while the remote beauty of Dartmoor National Park nudges its margins to the north. Both Devon and Cornwall have long been cherished as holiday destinations with fabulous beaches, stunning unspoilt countryside, historic town and many more famous attractions such as the Eden Project. Plymouth city centre has a pedestrianised shopping centre with its undercover shopping centre. It has a large modern multi-screen cinema complex and the well known Theatre Royal which regularly plays host to The Birmingham Royal Ballet in addition to the musicals, plays, comedies and operas that are staged throughout the year. In contrast, The Barbican offers a more cosmopolitan atmosphere being Plymouth city’s oldest quarter. The area overlooks a pretty harbour and includes a variety of small independent shops, a number of wine bars, restaurants and cafes with open air seating.
Plenty to see in Plymouth such as the historic Royal William Yard, the Barbican, Hoe and coastal paths. There is a ferry crossing from Cremyl to Mount Edgcumbe which is an excellent area to explore. The National Trust has numerous locations within easy distance. Ideal to spend an afternoon at Buckland Abbey, the home of Sir Francis Drake with an excellent depiction of his life.

Brunel Boathouse
My wife and I enjoyed our stay here it was very relaxing and the locals made us feel welcome at the local watering hole. If i could just say the boathouse could do with a couple of pint glasses as we had nothing to put our beer in. That was our only complaint but is was just a minor complaint. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you.

Position perfect
A beautiful little property positioned perfectly for exploring both near and far. Access to major roads was easy for whichever direction we chose to go. Bus stop at the door for anything close, including the city centre. Hosts were terrific, after a little problem at the very start of our stay. Problem was fixed quickly with supreme good grace and humour.

Brunel bridge review
Great stay. Lovely little touches left by the host e.g milk, croissants etc. Really nice Boathouse and nice and clean. Ideal location for visiting Cornwall as just over the bridge. Lovely views. Not far from pub if you fancy a quick pint. Totally recommend. Stayed for four nights and was perfect. Definitely be back.

Host profile image
Experienced Serviced Accommodation provider who is passionate about creating an individual, modern yet homely environment as well as helping guests to have an enjoyable stay be it for business or leisure.
I am married and my husband and I both enjoy travelling, visiting within the UK and world wide.
Some of my interests include kayaking and cycling (bit of a cheat though as I do turn on the motor for the hills leaving my husband far in the distance with a smug smirk on my face!). I try to keep active but also enjoy the Theatre and spending social time with my family and friends.
I have seen my fair share of hotels and self catering accommodation on my travels. As a host, I can’t wait to show fellow travellers the same great hospitality that I have had across the globe.

Why they chose this property

My properties are situated on the Devon/Cornwall border (Gateway to Cornwall) and you will have the entire place to yourself with a lockbox plus private entrances for added security. There is a lot to do and as I live nearby, I would be happy to meet with you (at a socially acceptable distance of course) to discuss if that’s something you would like. Please take time to read my guidebook which shows a lot of varied activities in easy reach plus local restaurants, bars etc.
Whilst River View and Sunset Place offer a great place to stay for holiday makers, they are also fabulous properties for Professional stays and within easy reach for Plymouth University, College of St Mark and St John (Marjons), Devonport Dockyard (Babcock), HMS Raleigh (Torpoint) and HMS Drake.
Please feel free to contact me if you require any information regarding the properties or the area and I aim to respond in an instant
