Unfortunately the door was broken in an accident by the previous guests. The replacement glass was upgraded to laminated glass, it wasn’t in stock. Within 20 minutes of arrival the guests were complaining the living room was too hot, due to the missing door, which they knew about before arrival. On visiting the villa the air con was not on cool. The temperature was around 25 degs. The following guests in the same situation with the door but 45 degs, they were happy with how the air con cooled the room. The guests were not lied to at all. Replacing a glass door takes time it’s not like buying a new kettle. The pool had been newly tiled, the water is very hard and can sometimes deposit calcium on the walls of the pool. This can be dealt with by adding excessive chemicals but then the pool can not be used. Dirt can then gather on the calcium as it’s a rough surface. The pool cleaner was adding small amounts of chemicals to clear but which left the pool safe to swim in. On one of the visits the pool guy was rudely asked how long it would take to clean as they wanted to use the pool. We have been PMs for over 20 years and at times with 25 villas. We have always been Premier hosts and have 4& 5 star ratings. In my opinion this guest took an instant dislike to the villa. She requested a 50% refund after the stay, which was refused. VRBO are also fully aware of this issue and explanation. The door was not a security door there are two other doors before the glass one.
